Cumbria Park Hotel

Hotel itself is lovely, rooms are nice, clean. Obviously some money has been spent to decorate and bring it up to date. However, the whole thing is spoiled by the lack of staff. The two people who were covering the restaurant, reception and bar were run ragged. Not their fault but the management behind them. Food was lovely once we got it but boy what a wait. These two were almost running between tables. Total chaos. You only get one chance to establish your reputation and I think that’s being blown. Under new management it said outside; someone needs to get a grip.

I booked the Cumbria Park Hotel in good faith for one night, Monday 15th June 2026 to Tuesday 16th June 2026. I sent a message to the establishment to inform them that I was travelling with a small well-behaved dog. The message was marked as sent. On arrival at the aforementioned hotel I was met by a very cold reception. They, at this point, informed me that I was not able to bring my dog into the hotel. I was quite upset and had to, after driving for 2 hours 30mins, book into another hotel which accepted pets. The area manager promised me a full refund if I cancelled the booking. Subsequently, my mobile number was blocked and the refund of £57.88 was not granted. I found the whole experience upsetting and unnecessary.

Great breakfast easy parking

Excellent location and the fact that the car park was at the rear of the hotel for easy access was very useful. Staff throughout were helpful and polite; food - both evening meal and breakfast were both superb; room was fine and comfortable - exactly what I needed as a 'pitstop' on a long journey up to Scotland.

Nothing. Everything was either good or excellent.

Everything really. Second time I’ve stayed here and I’d be back in a heartbeat.
