The Federal Hotel Downtown Carson City, an Ascend Collection Hotel

Staff was helpful. Had to change rooms. Its an old building. Our 1st room had no hot water after the 2nd evening there. Had to pack up and head to the 2nd room. Both rooms were very clean and roomy. The beds were incredibly comfortable. The hotel is located in an area that makes it easy to get around in all directions. Overall, its a great place to stay.

Was impressed with how clean it was for a hotel/casino, check in was quick and easy, and I was surprised that there wasn't a resort fee. Rooms were clean and perfect size for groups of 4,

The beds were a little wearing and hard. The shower pressure wasn't what I expected for a casino/hotel. There was pressure but not too good. They provided shampoo, body was, and condition, but they were 1 time use, which was great when there more than 1 person wanting to use them also

Staff were very friendly. Room was clean with a pretty view over the city and mountain range. Casino was fun and absolutely enjoyed the set by Chris Costa. Very talented musician and singer. He did an awesome job interacting with crowd.

The hotel is a rundown dump. Half the rooms aren't renovated, but noention of that anywhere till you show up. I tried cancelling my reservation and was told they can't, so it's just a $100 lesson to stick with the big name hotels. Avoid this place at all costs. Maybe after their renovation it would be worth spending 50-60 a night, but definitely not more than that, and certainly not until the renovation is done.

The only complaint I have is that the on site restaurant was not open due to remodeling.
