Hollin House Hotel

The property was ok and the standard rooms are looking very tired, but the room was expected at the value we paid. The breakfast was adequate but nothing special. We ordered vegan sausages for breakfast and got potato and chopped vegetables in the shape of a sausage, something they use to serve 20 years ago, so very similar to the decor.

We had an evening dinner in the hotel which was a vegan burger and fries they charged us over £17.00 each and it was very dry and the fries was mainly the small crispy bits, which was very expensive and not very good quality. We ordered drinks at the bar they were also very expensive eg. Large glass of white wine 250ml @ £12.50 for nothing very special, which most probably cost them £8.00 a bottle at the cash and carry.

Beautiful location

The bed was so comfortable. I happened to get a nasty cold just before I arrived so I spent a lot of time in bed! The surrounds are beautiful and the staff are lovely.

Great value for money, lovely friendly staff, and good location to break a journey from the east up to Scotland.
