Occidental Papagayo - Adults Only - All inclusive

The property was okay. The food selection was lacking variety, pretty much the same selection everyday. There is no where to get food late night (after 11pm) unless you are paying. The entertain is none. They had a few activities going on at the main pool, but after 4pm music is turned off by the pool and that’s it. There is a swim up bar in the second pool but close at 5pm. There is a disco at 8, but the music is geared to Latinos. They need a variety of music for all cultures and ages. There were raccoons roaming the property freely (terrified). They offer no top shelf alcohol only rail. All and all my husband and I went to rekindle and reconnect and that’s what we did. I would not stay there again.

Staff was a little slow attending to us. Like they are short staff

The workers are great. However the rooms were dirty, the phone did not work. The fridge did not work. The transportation stopped working at 1am. They stopped serving food at 9:30. No snack bar at all.

This property is absolutely gorgeous. I was disappointed in the management of the the property. Arriving guests had to wait a long time to check In and to get simple questions answered. They never answered the phones at all. The property is huge so you have to walk a lot but they have shuttles that never seemed to come to our building. They have limited towels and the food was horrible. There were very limited food choices and it was bland to taste. We tried the specialty dinning and the food was not good at all. We had to check out early due to having to drive 3 hours to another airport. The attendant would not let us exit without a piece of paper and this caused us to travel late during the night. If the lines weren’t so long we should have just been able to leave. I would not stay here again unless they made a lot of changes to their iteniary.

Don’t come here . 5 star rating is a joke. Got here at check in time 3 pm . The room wasn’t ready , reception person Rosario was not helpful and very rude There is shuttle to take you to your room. It took 30 minutes to come and take us to what is a 5 minute walk. Got to room ac was not working Its 6 pm ac is still not working even after tech came. I know when someone is bullshitting they have no intention to get the ac working Room did not have towels or soap Shower head is broken. For a place this expensive , this is a ridiculously run hotel

It rained at the resort, the lights were blacked out, the bed was hard and uncomfortable, the food was decent, the drinks were ok, the property is nice and beautiful

Definitely this property needs an upgrade. With the high temperatures staying at a place without air conditioner is very disappointing. The buffet was very poor. The pool was disgusted. Very easy you can see the green water. The phone in my room didn’t work, we reported and nobody fixed.

Excellent service. Room clean, comfortable. Food very good. Enjoyed tour booked thru hotel. Beach was nice. My partner enjoyed massages very much. Management and staff were outstanding.

We’ve been to a lot of all Inclusive resorts this place was decent but it had enough negatives I wouldn’t recommend it first of all only only person at the lobby when we arrived not friendly then after we finally checked in our room they didn’t even offer to deliver our luggage to our room. We watched they made everyone take their own luggage this wasn’t very professional especially since the property is very large and difficult to navigate by walking the many stairs and hill sections of the resort luckily we weren’t that far from the lobby . Also this property has the worst beach I’ve ever seen at a resort it’s small very difficult to get to and when the tide comes in after lunch the beach is gone you can’t even get back to the steps of the resort without climbing over debris and being in water not safe for kids or older people. No pool activity’s til 3 then they do zoomba for 30 minutes no entertainment at night except Karoeke at 9 every night in the disco but no shows and your only allowed to eat at the specialty restaurants 3 nights the other nights they have a small limited buffet positive was the food at the specialty restaurants was decent but only 1 person at pool area taking drink orders all in all not enough staff it may be the time of year we stayed
