"Brief stay"

Very close to the central station, booked last minute but there was a concierge there late at night to get us checked in. We were only there very briefly but had a clean comfortable room and very fine time.

"Good position but not comfortable"

Staff are pleasant, and the breakfast is excellent. The experience suffered from noise (the noise from the street from the tram which goes alongside, but worse the noise from adjoining rooms. The walls are clearly very thin). The mattresses are very soft so not good for anyone (like my wife) with a bad back. We did not sleep well, but the breakfast cheered us up!

"Hotel by Dusseldorf Hauptbahnhof"

Very pleasant one night stay. Only drawback was the tram noise from the road outside, which was not excessive, but for light sleepers could be a nuisance. Ask for a room at the back of the hotel - problem solved!

"Short Stay Perfect"

Hotel has change management since my last stay over a year ago! Free breakfast is gone which is too bad, but the quality of the breakfast remained. Front desk person would not change my room, but overall the staff were friendly during my recent stay/.

"New management !"

I have not been at this hotel for a year, and on my return it seems that their is new management. I was comfortable with the past management which kept me coming back based on the relationship. My first request to change room was turn down which did not sit well with me, but overall the staff were very nice! Great Breakfast, but now for a charge!

"Appalling behaviour of manager"

Stay was very good first day but was completely destroyed by the actions of the most senior staff member, the manager. She had decided to move me from my room to another room without notice. This meant moving all my personal items - clothing, toiletry, etc. which of course was not packed as such a situation has never occurred to me before. I am not sure who handled my personal goods, how it was handled. It was a major invasion of privacy before even considering why a room change would be made. I can only guess as to the room change that the manager may have had a complaint from what she considered was a regular or more important customer about their room (hotel was full) and she has decided to move me to the inferior room. The room I was moved to was old, smelly and generally not very pleasant. I have made a complaint to Best Western as I believe this is not their normal policy but given the immoral nature of what happened, I have requested action against this person. I would advise however people not to use this hotel as no one should support this kind of discrimination.

"The unruly manager"

I returned on the second day evening to find that my card does not work. I asked at the front desk to reset my card. The very friendly person at the front desk does so. I go to my room and when I open the door, someone is moaning inside. I go back down to explain to the receptionist. She checks and the Manager has changed my room moving all my personal items - clothes, toiletry and bags to another room. Too late to argue and person was very friendly. I go to the new room. Much worse than the first room, smelly, old, unclean. The manager had decided not to come to work the next day but I can only guess what could have happened. Most likely, the person who is in my old room complained about the quality of a room, perhaps a regular customer. This woman has decided to change for my room, throwing me in the substandard room. I will make an official complaint to Best Western. However, I would suggest to people reading that this type of behaviour is beyond the minimum standard of respect to a customer, let alone a human being and would urge people not to stay in this hotel until this person has been called up and removed for this atrocious behaviour.

"Standard hotel. You get what you pay for. "

2 single beds pushed together as a double. Close to the uban (train). 3 stops into the old town. Standard hotel but decent for the price. It was clean, free wifi and free luggage storage.
