Restaurant and Bar staff were outstanding. One particular waiter was unbelievable. JC was probably one of the best waiters i’ve ever had anywhere . He went out of his way for everyone in our family. Very sincere and really cared abut our whole family and friends. We are just hoping he will be there when we return next year. JC JC JC he’s the man. Italian restaurant was outstanding.

Guillermo (William) is one of the best waiters we’ve ever had. He is warm and welcoming, attentive and accommodating, informative and professional. I can’t say enough good things about him. He really made the meal a fantastic experience. Guillermo (William) es uno de los mejores camareros que hemos tenido. Es cálido y acogedor, atento y servicial, informativo y profesional. No tengo palabras para describirlo. Hizo de la comida una experiencia fantástica.

Overall amazing experience we had. Location was heavenly. The view from our room was unbelievable and the staff were so friendly especially the waiter named Mark. His service made our stay exceptional. Thank you everyone at Mia Reef! We definitely will visit again

La playa es espectacularmente bella!! El personal es muy amable especialmente Efrain que nos atendía en la playa, super servicial y amable.

El bufet es super limitado y tienen un solo restaurante a ña carta incluido. La atención de la señora Cata que esta en el servicio de toallas es pésima, muy poco amable y todo lo hace de mala gana.

Just returned from an amazing stay at the Mia Reef! I don't even know where to start, but I am going to try be thorough. I guess it will be with the staff. STAFF: Completely amazing! There literally was not a person we came in contact with that wasn't kind and helpful! From the front desk who helped us with our taxi needs, to the wait staff who without asking brought us a drink before the snack bar closed, to the grounds workers who said "Hola" at every passing, to the housekeeper who came out of the adjoining room to say good bye, to the concierge who got us a day-of restaurant reservation because we were leaving the next day, etc! Wonderful people! ROOM: We had a nice sized ocean side villa which was wonderful! Loved the glass balcony! Bathroom was ample size, great towels and had extra toiletries such as a sewing kit & toothbrush. We did run out of hot water for a couple hours and total water for a couple hours one day. The bed was comfy and the air worked great! The room did not have much in it. There was no couch, dresser, etc. Just a small table & nightstands which was fine. It did have a small fridge with beer/soda/water and a Nespresso machine. Both were replenished daily. POOL: Looked nice and had a small swim up bar. Usually we like to spend some time there but the beach and water was just tooooo beautiful! BEACH & WATER: Amaaaaaazing! So beautiful and was warm enough most days and as noted in other reviews, you can walk out sooo far! Clear of seaweed all but one day, and even then it wasn't bad. Just some random floating stuff. Always found a beach chair. ACTIVITIES/ENTERTAINMENT: Usually we participate in all them but we were just wanting some R&R this time. We did do the Bingo & beer drinking contest which was fun. Not sure what else they had. We watched a couple nightly shows, the Mayan and Circus I believe, and they were both good, though the stage area definitely could be better. It is odd when they are on ground level with the audience. FOOD & BEVIES: We thought everything was great! Loved the variety at the buffet and the fresh made options at the grill. Ate at both the Mexican and steakhouse and both meals were good as well. Drinks were all good. Mostly had just the beer but did try a few foofoo drinks and wine and they were all great. RESORT: We loved the quiet little paradise and location at the north end of the island. It had very simple decor but pretty throughout. Liked the casual atmosphere, photo ops, King's pool, sitting areas, coffee bar, book exchange, pier, etc. Appreciated that the people trying to get you to buy a members ship were not overwhelming. Was it a 5 start resort no, but an amazing 3.5 -4.

My two kids and I came with 24 other people. It it’s a beautiful beach, but it is an operational nightmare. It started with checking in and getting the wrong room (1 king instead of two full/queens). They told me that they could not guarantee double beds, but I was not told this upon booking. They did offer to let me change rooms the next day, but I ended up declining as moving as a female alone with two kids it seemed like too much work. Then, they were only able to give each one of our party members one room key because they simply didn’t have enough keys. Most days there were no towels available despite telling us over and over that it would be one more hour. The buffet was OK for breakfast, but not much else. The ceviche bar was definitely the crowd favorite. Unfortunately, all other restaurants required 24 hour notice for reservation and or an extra charge. I ended up bringing food and I’m happy I did because I primarily ate my own food. Or we went off property to eat, which defeats the purpose of an all-inclusive hotel. The drinks were OK, but definitely watered down. On one day we rented five cabanas and never got the alcohol that was supposed to come with it, $780 USD later (and no confirmation telling me they were actually able to book it, but they told a friend of mine). They often communicated through one person and not us individually, which was frustrating. Then, on the second to last day, three of us were told we needed to move rooms. They only communicated this through one of our friends, not us individually. Four men showed up at our cabanas that we had rented for $150 each, and told us we had less than one hour to move our stuff. We were three single female females with six kids total between the three of us. They told us we should’ve known this as that’s how we booked it however, I asked upon check-in whether we would be required to move rooms for the last day and they assured me that we would not actually have to. The icing on the cake is that the hotel left one of the bags behind and did not make it onto the taxi as we are heading home. The most disappointing thing was that they never ever attempted to comp us or help us really in any way for our troubles or for any miscommunications. I definitely got heated and yelled at the staff and while I apologize for that, the operation behind this hotel is atrocious and do not recommend it. It’s clear that the staff does not have autonomy to go the extra mile for the guests and that is disappointing. I highly recommend that management figure this out and empower their employees to be more accommodating their travelers.

Just returned from a 10 day stay with another couple. We had a great time and would recommend this hotel, but keep in mind it’s a 4* (at best). The rooms were super outdated and in definite need of an update. They were clean so that helped. The hot water in the room was a hit and miss. But we were on a small island so I get that. The location is amazing. I have so many sunset shots taken from the beachside bar or sunrise shots taken from my room. The alcohol was for sure, watered down. But having said that, the bartenders made great tasting drinks during the day. It was at night when we wanted a baileys, or Kailua kind of cocktail but they were either out or had the knock off types of liquors. The breakfast buffet was great - Annabelle made the best eggs. It’s a small resort so the buffet is a small buffet. The little ceviche restaurant was a great little lunch spot. Shout out to our favourite waiters at the Mexican and grill - William, Thomas and Jorge. You made our nightly dinners that much more fun! Because of the amazing staff we would definitely come back. Just update the rooms first!
