AVOID booking at this resort unless you intend to make the trip at all costs. You will NOT be able to simply cancel your booking despite the website advertising as such. I emailed contacto@hotelesmia.com to request a cancellation 5 days before the free cancellation date would have expired. I expected an easy, no hassle cancellation but instead was emailed asking what the reason was for the cancellation - I gave the reason and was told my request was passed on to another department “due to my cancellation reason” and to wait 48-72 hours for a response. I waited a week and received no reply so I emailed again asking for an update on the cancellation and refund. The emails I had been emailing came back as undeliverable! So I emailed the thread and demanded that they confirm the cancellation and give me written confirmation that the refund had been processed. The reply I received told me that “per their cancellation policy” I was supposed to use a cancellation link on the original confirmation email and once THAT was received then it would be considered for a refund from that date! Very convenient that not once before this did she mention this “policy”. I pulled up the cancellation policy on their website again and it clearly states the only way to request a cancellation was to email that contacto@hotelesmia.com. I am beyond livid and this resort has been a scam from the start! Immediately after booking, I received a phone call from Nadia telling me there was a glitch and I wasn’t offered the free transportation at check out so she was calling to set that up with me. We wanted to book with a service that included the ferry tickets to avoid delays during the ferry. Their transportation does NOT include the ferry tickets. I declined and asked if we could add it on later and she said no that it was a promotion only for that time since we didn’t get asked at booking but then later she said it was a complimentary service offered all the time. I ended up texting her for a long time just going back and forth over transportation. Aggressive tactics are used here.

We had an amazing time at Mia Reef! The staff was so friendly and the location can't be beat with amazing views and the clearest water you have ever seen. The staff really went out of their way to make us feel at home and we were especially impressed with the bartender Luis Arias and Roberto from the ceviche restaurant that has the most AMAZING fish tacos we have ever had. We ate all our meals at the buffet or at the ceviche restaurant. The buffet has many options and there was always someone at the grill to quickly grill meat you could use to make tacos (which I did for every meal). The ceviche restaurant has great food including ceviche, fish tacos, shrimp tacos, and more. The island itself can feel a little sketchy after dark but we felt none of that while at the resort itself which is an island off the main island, connected with a little bridge. The only part of the resort that could be improved is the gym which is quite small (a few cardio machines and a few isolation machines) though it has enough for a basic workout. We can't wait to go back!

First time staying at Mia Reef and it was amazing!! We booked through Expedia and everything was super smooth. The food and drink was delicious and the beach was unbelievable! Special shout out to JC who always kept the drinks coming at the beach and my bros Richie and Ricardo at the bar! But honestly all the staff was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back!

When I booked this trip it was for the view. This did not disappoint when we got there. The staff was amazing, shout out to JC and Jerry they made you feel like royalty. There was entertainment, good food and best private beach area. Facility was clean, rooms could use some updating, but who stays in the room when you have everything else to do. Best price and safe area. If you want to relax this is a place to be.

J.C.Jhunny, Andres, Efrain and Israel- they made this trip SO fun. When you stay at Isla Mia, this is the crew that makes you feel like family. Just the right amount of attention. Good drinks- good company and always a can do positive attitude.

We spent our afternoons having a delicious lunch over at the Cerviche!! Roberto was always, always kind and attentive to every single need or want. He even gave my husband a nickname for the ten days we were there…Jeffe! Gaby in the background doing the cooking was always on point! Do not hesitate to eat here as it’s all part of your all inclusive stay!!

The truth is that the only thing I liked about this resort was that it’s sitting on playa del Norte, allowing the resort to have a private beach area located on the best beach on Isla Mujeres.

I could go on and on about the things I didn’t like but I’ll give the top three; firstly the alcohol is a huge problem, I would be willing to bet that they add water to there alcohol, me and my wife both drank 5+ drinks (asking the bartender to make them extra strong) and we didn’t get a buzz. When we drank at a different resort we were buzzing within 3 drinks. Secondly the food isn’t good at all, we ended up leaving the resort and buying food instead of eating the free food that was being served. Lastly, the entire resort doesn’t get regularly maintained, the grass was overgrown and there was holes under our sink and more

le falta mantenimiento y la alberca se siente desaprovechada. Lo muy mal es el servicio: el teléfono en mi habitación no funcionaba y nunca lo arreglaron, me entregaron la habitación sin producto en el minibar (principalmente me importaba el agua) y aunque se reportó desde un inicio no lo resolvieron hasta el día siguiente, y es el único todo incluido en el que he estado en el que se siente que continuamente buscan que les des propina en todo momento aunque en teoría es parte de la tarifa pagada (que no es una tarifa baja). Si quieren propina directa del cliente, que lo cambien a Plan Europeo.
