Mia Reef Isla Mujeres - All Inclusive

The shining star for this resort has always and continues to be the staff. Luis, Roberto, JC, Saul, Antonio and numerous others are why we return year after year. The beach/water/location are always amazing. The daily activity offerings are definitely a step up from visits past; the ladies are working hard to keep the guests entertained. The food is always hit or miss; I would say this trip it was more on the side of a "hit" vs a miss. The breakfast offerings are always amazing, fresh eggs made the way you want and other offerings. Lunch buffet along with the grilled hotdogs/burgers/fries are always a hit. Dinner at the buffet was fine; plenty of offerings from the grill (chicken, beef, fish, mussels, etc) could be made to your liking if you didn't see something prepared you would like. We only visited the cevechria this trip vs the other restaurants and like usual, the food was amazing, along with the service (Roberto for the win!). We were fortunate our stay was during Christmas Eve and they had prepared one of the best turkey's I've ever had (poor gentleman at the grill did NOT know how to carve it though) and the Christmas Eve entertainment had young and old smiling and bopping their heads. We have visited the island and MIA (Avalon) since 2012 and I dare to say this was one of the best experiences we had. We did stay in a villa with 2 double beds; air worked great, shower pressure was amazing (can be hit or miss). I do with they would fix the pavers along the walk ways...its been years with them having numerous broken areas that are a hazard (especially at night) but other than that, our stay was wonderful.

Everything in this resort amazing! Super friendly stuff, amazing restaurant, amazing views and many cute fish in the beach. Restaurant Maria’s has the best Mexican food, our waiter Tomas is the best waiter I’ve ever met. The drinks Carrajillo Mia is the best drinks I’ve ever had! We will be definitely come back with more friends. Thank you for this amazing experience.

The location is amazing. Staff are great. ( front desk and ‘concierge, a bit less so ) Even the folks slinging ‘memberships’ (timeshares) were nice and friendly.. (yep we fell for a 90 minute orientation that went 3+ hours). Cost is a bit speedy for what it is. Before arrival my wife tried to call a number of times during the week before our trip to confirm details and make any necessary reservations (our stay was over Christmas) someone would answer and then she’d get disconnected every time. That should have been a red flag. The room is pretty rough and not the two beds we bought. They did provide a roll away kids bed for my 80 some year old father in-law. The beach is fantastic. That said, if you’re not a ‘member’ you are definitely second class. Plastic cup are instead of glassware, less desirable seating at the beach and maybe not the restaurant you would like to eat at even if you are first in-line 24 hours ahead as instructed. A bit ridiculous. I get that everyone should have an opportunity to make a reservation for the nicer restaurants but 3 adults getting buffet for the first two nights of a 4 night stay is disappointing. We are nice, we mention concerns if we have any. The hotel had opportunities to make things right, they didn’t. Pretending to try and nothing changing is beyond disappointing especially as they try and ask us to return for a ‘special’ price and recommend them.

We love the resort. We have been coming for many years. JC is a great addition to the wait staff. He definitely went above and beyond.

Let me start with my wife and I absolutely love this place! We fell in love with it on our first visit, which was just a two night stay. This was our 4th vacation with Mia Reef, and our third week-long stay! Between the location (the lagoon), the staff ( over-the-top generous) , and the weather, Mia Reef is the pearl of Isla Mujeres! I wanna give a special shout out to a few members of the staff that really good above and beyond: JC, who caters to the day beds, is always so jolly and full of smiles. He even delivered our drinks to us on our floats in the lagoon! Top notch guy! Then, there's Luis and Saul , the evening bartenders. Can't say enough about these guys. They are genuine, and love their people, and it shows! There are many others that deserve recognition, but it's best if you discover them yourselves! We are already planning our next trip back! The staff at this resort is amazing! Roberto and Andrea are fantastic and will take great care of you. You are never waiting for a refill on your drink!

La comida de Roberto es phenomenal, El servicio es 5⭐. Los tacos de pescados, camarones son los mejores dela isla. Nos encanta mucho Roberto y su comida. 5⭐ Roberto's food is just amazing, and the service the best all around Special kudos for the fish and shrimp tacos, probably the best we eaten on the island . We loved everything and every second of it. Just go, you'll not be disappointed. 5⭐

Overall a decent experience. The location and view definitely takes the cake , the emerald water right by the resort makes it unique. As others have said, their staff is excellent, for us, our booked room was not available/ undergoing upgrade, so we were given two connecting rooms which was a nice gesture. My only complaint is the food, a lot of scope for improvement is there, in terms of variety and taste.
