Ermita Cartagena, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

If you’re staying in Cartagena, we highly recommend staying at the Ermita. Great service, comfortable rooms, and delicious food The breakfast was great, and be sure to try their SEÑORA AYDA restaurant, which serves a fusion of Lebanese and Colombian cuisine. Get to know the history of the main house - it’s very interesting. The location is close the the old city tourist attractions, as well as pickup points for tours. They staff give great recommendations. One thing it is better to utilize the hotel transportation or Uber than to walk at night.

The hotel staff were extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful. The rooms were comfortable, although there was a noticeable lack of attention to detail in certain areas. The breakfast was reasonable, and once again the service was excellent; smiles in the morning are a great way to start the day. The food in the restaurant could be a little better, perhaps because the signature restaurant was closed.

Second time staying at the Ermita and they never disappoint! Love this hotel and always recommend it for travelers out the country.

This hotel is conveniently located next to a local tire repair shop, right in front of a principal road to the airport which translates to high-speed traffic at all hours that you'll clearly hear from rooms, and in front of the worst coastal stretch in all of Cartagena, there is no real beach here if you manage your way across the dangerous road. You can walk to the old city, but it's not safe and takes you about 15 mins because you have to walk a bit more that you would think because of the city walls. The hotel itself has no reservations in making loud noises while cleaning after midnight and you'll hear all of the hallway noises like they are in your tiny room, and this is all after a night of a dj banging songs until late. Restaurant is just ok only as a backup, if you fail to score for some reason a nice meal in the many restaurants over at the walled city. Staff is nice until you have an issue, which then they make long faces and stop all interactions, we had problems with hot water and tv, maintenance person was the nicest person in the staff we came across, he halfway resolved the issues, but we were fine with the effort and partial solutions. This hotel is well below Marriott standards, even when compared to even the lowest tier of brands. Avoid if possible, this felt like a tourist trap which is on brand with Cartagena's travel experience.

Extremely great property in an extremely great location. The staff was very accommodating, polite, and patient. I’m definitely staying here again and highly recommend to travelers.
