Best Western Nottingham Derby

Friendly staff but the hotel let it down. I'm assuming my room was designed for wheelchair access which is fine but the sink was at such a low level I had to stoop down to shave or just wash my hands, which was very uncomfortable. The shower was awful, lots of mould and outdated shower mixer which would have burnt me if I didn't move out of the way quickly for adjusting it. The on site bar and restaurant severely needs updating, again the staff were all friendly and helpful but the facilities let it down. Additionally there was a residents incident the night I was at the hotel, shouting and running up and down the corridor in the night with a police visit. Granted that wasn't the staffs fault but maybe more indicative of the usual clientele.

Easy check-in. Very clean comfortable hotel. Next to motorway but rooms really well noise proofed so quiet nights sleep. Would definitely use again. Good restaurant next door.

The room was very clean and spacious with a very large comfy super king size bed. The shower cubicle was excellent, and unlike many hotels that I have stayed in where you could barely turn around in it, this was large enough to fit half a dozen people inside! But primarily the staff at this hotel were second to none, more of what you would expect in a very high end 5* hotel. From the barman who served us drinks, took our food order and waited on us, to the smiley sociable young lady in the breakfast room and the excellent reception staff we could not have been better served. I must mention the night shift receptionist (the young man who's name I did not get as I was extremely tired) who swiftly dealt with another guest after our complaint at 3am, about the noise he was making in the corridor which then carried on inside his room adjacent to ours. And also Gwen after our complaint about the strong smell of smoke in the corridor that actually came from the previously mentioned guest room. It transpired that he had covered the smoke detector with a sock and was happily puffing away in his room! She was very professional in the handling of the matter and was extremely apologetic to us. So thank you to all the wonderful staff, who all appeared genuinely pleased to help and serve us and make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. This will be the 1st hotel I will book if we are ever in the Nottingham area again and I will not hesitate in recommending you to others.

No bath as your service had not responded to my request. Told I could be upgraded for an extra £75 for the night. Soft uncomfortable bed, hard pillow, dirty carpet. I will never use Best Western or Expedia again!

Nice big room with double bed ( not queen) bathroom needs updating but overall hotel was very clean with 24 hr reception and free parking. The thermostat seemed motion activated and at some point it dropped temperature to 19.5 Celsius at night. Other then this hotel is as described on hotels.com

A family room on the 2nd floor with no lift and no bath. Very difficult with an 18 month baby to get travel cot, portable baby bath and all associated paraphanalia up all those stairs without assistance. Suggest family rooms on ground floor!

+ Fast, pleasant check in. Room had plenty of space, comfy bed, tea/coffee/toiletries/iron/tv/hairdryer. Good value for money. Nice staff. - Noisy doors close with a bang so a group of people getting back late at night makes a lot of noise as they go to their rooms. Sliding door into bathroom kept getting stuck. No air con. No lift.
