Treetops Resort

First time back in over ten years. Sad to see the place going downhill- lack of updates and maintenance. Outdoor pool not longer in use as advertised, hot tub green, rooms dated, restaurant cools down-facilities need some attention. Skiing was good but find somewhere else to eat and stay.

We came to Treetops Resort to go snow tubing. It was mid week and we had the hill completely to ourselves. The staff (Allen, Natalia and Juan) on the hill were extremely friendly and helpful. They were a lot of fun. The hill was expertly groomed and fun to slide down. We had a very memorable time.

Hot tub outside wasn't working when we got there but was fixed by the second night after dark. The bar wasn't open after 10 am on Sunday which was a bummer. The pool towels are tiny so I suggest you bring your own. Ultimately we will always come back here just felt like we were jipped a bit compared to our visit in 2024. Keep that nat open. On Sunday for the people that stay! Everything else was great! Highly recommend visiting the restaurants on the property and the places in downtown Gaylord. Tubing was super fun! Everyone in our party enjoyed themselves.

We enjoyed every minute of our trip. The skiing was amazing. Grooming was fabulous. The restaurant staff Alexandria at Legends was top notch. The sleigh ride was a lot of fun even Jim the shuttle driver made us laugh! We even got Grandma of 80 years young on skies. This was a great experience!

All of Treetops staff are friendly and helpful. Skiing is fun with the family with lots of long blues with some fun diamonds. Beautiful miles long views. The resort property is big spread out through the ski/ golf area. The main lodge has an indoor to outdoor pool year round that is awesome for a warm water winter swim. It is easy to get to the ski hill, restaurants, equipment and any of the lodge, hotel or villa with kitchenettes using the free shuttle that runs all day. We had an awesome much needed winter ski retreat.

Great experience overall but the check in process was confusing and the hot tub did not work as advertised, nor did the Inn have an outdoor, heated pool - that’s at the Lodge, down the hill. Good place to take a family with young kids, easy access to ski lifts but the area is very small…but this is Michigan…we make the best of what God gave us. The “Legends on the Hill” restaurant was AWESOME - food and service - and a two minute walk from our room.

The sports bar had a good atmosphere. I was disappointed that I couldn’t get the Lions game in my room.

We purchased tickets for "extreme tubing" for a group. Everything went very smoothly, from signing the required release documents (we all did this online) to getting the actual lift tickets, to enjoying the experience. The weather played a part, as conditions could not have been better. That said, the few staff that we interacted with were very friendly. An hour was about perfect, and guessing that we had 6-8 rides (at a leisurely pace).

The weather was perfect for an over night trip up to Treetops to cross country ski. Ed is a gem of an employee who fit me with my equipment and went over the trails with me. My room was spacious and comfortable. The only hiccup to the trip is that I left my ice pack in the freezer in my room.

Our group of 11 had an amazing time on the extreme tubing excursion. The snow was perfect. It was freshly graded, and the gentleman running the extreme tubing were very friendly. Not only did they help us take pictures of our group, but they also were very friendly and asking us and our kids how they wanted to go down the snow ramp - spinning or straight down. We only had to wait in line a few minutes each time so I felt like they weren’t overbooked and allowed us to get a full use of the hour. By the end, our group was exhausted and enjoyed standing by the fire to warm up. Highly recommend!
