"Family Suite weekend getaway for group of seven"

Free parking, welcoming staff who called ahead to check if we wanted dinner & breakfast options on arrival. Catered to allergies, and were informative about things to do locally, as well as curious about where we came from. Excellent value for money and enough space in the Family Suite for my group of seven. The suite is separated into three rooms, and one bathroom with shower, each with a door for privacy, connected by an entrance hall with a kettle and teas/coffees. The room is up a single flight of stairs, far from any noise in the main bar area. For dinner, we appreciated the options for both English & Indian cooking, which tasted fresh and delicious. The portions were good, we ordered many things from the Indian menu. Our large group was catered for with warmth and respect, and I would happily visit again.

With the climate in late March, the building felt quite cold. The staff kindly turned on the heating both in the bar area and our rooms, and sent a handyman to check all radiators were working. Appreciated the quick fix by the staff, not much control they have over cold stone/concrete floors. Would suggest to any visitors to bring slippers & thick socks for walking around without shoes. Some of our group said the beds were very soft.

The location was great for our trip, there was some really nice things to see locally. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and it was nice that the chef came out at breakfast to check everything was OK.

I always try to leave an honest review and not focus on the negatives, the hotel could be lovely and is in a nice spot but it is looking a bit tired and some areas would benefit from redecoration.

"Friendly relaxing overnight stay."

Room had everything required. The bed was comfortable.; The owners and staff were extremely friendly and attentive.

It is a big place which needs a little upkeep but there's nothing that detracts from the comfort, just aesthetics.

"Step back in time …."

Location was great and staff were lovely. The bedding was spotless and the bed was very comfortable.

It was in need of some TLC. The facilities were dated and jaded - carpets and shower needed a makeover. Food was plentiful but average.

"Our stay was ok but two many. Steps and was uphill walking that o cannot do due to my legs being bad"

Bathroom good single beds with quilt ok but prefered double room dissapointed with tv that did not work asked in reception. For more milk and for someone to look at tv, took ages to come and still didnt fix it

Absolutely 10/10 on service and welcoming nature!! Everyone was so friendly, food was amazing and bed was so comfortable! Loved it and would highly recommend to anyone!

Loud neighbours, but that was absolutely no reflection on the hotel/staff! Just loud guests next door.
