Sunscape Curacao Resort Spa & Casino

I recently stayed at Sunscape Curaçao Resort, Spa & Casino as a solo traveler, and I can honestly say it was an incredible experience. From the moment I arrived, I felt comfortable and welcomed. Traveling alone can sometimes feel a bit intimidating , but the atmosphere here was so warm and inviting that I settled in right away. The beach was definitely a highlight for me,calm, crystal-clear water and perfect for snorkeling. I loved being able to just walk out, explore the marine life, and then relax on the sand with no stress. There was always something happening around the resort, which made it easy to stay entertained, but I also appreciated that I could find quiet moments to just unwind and enjoy my own company. It really offered the best of both worlds. The staff were friendly and attentive, often checking in and making sure I was comfortable, which I appreciated as a solo guest. Dining alone was never awkward, and there were plenty of options to choose from. Overall, this resort made solo travel feel easy, safe, and enjoyable. I’d highly recommend it to anyone considering a solo getaway,I’d definitely return and certainly recommend.

A very nice resort with a relaxed Caribbean atmosphere: 3 beaches, always available sun loungers, and plenty of activities. A very beautiful room in the Royal Tower with a stunning view — clean and well-stocked with towels. I especially recommend the Oceana restaurant. Huge thanks to Kareen, Guest Experience Manager, as well as Cindiray, Daniele, General Manager, and Juan Carlos, Associate Director of S&M, for their care and assistance. We felt very well taken care of — every resort should have such guest service.We would be happy to come back :)

We had a good vacation here. The beach is amazing with excellent snorkeling right off the beach. They have a wonderful entertainment team and a lovely pool area with a swim up bar. Based on the reviews I read before we arrived, we got exactly what I expected. Older hotel in need of updating, moderate food, but good in room air conditioning which based on the reviews was a big surprise. The staff was very welcoming and invested in doing what they could to make our stay wonderful. I was told while we were visiting that Hyatt is supposed to be doing some much needed updates. If that happens we would definitely raise our rating and visit again.

We were here 21 years ago and it seems little has been done to update the rooms. We requested a ground floor room due to mobility issues when we booked in May 2025 (about 10 months in advance). Didn't get one offered until we'd been there 3 days and had unpacked a 10 day stay. The handle in the shower broke off so we ended up having to shower in a different room our last day. The cabinets are stained and a hinge was broken on the covering of the mini fridge. On the plus side~ Housekeeping kept the room very clean and were very nice. The specialty restaurants had limited (about 3-4) options but were very good. The buffet was good and we could always find something to eat. The snorkeling off the beach was nice for fish, but no corals other than a random brain coral. A $2 US (each way) bus ride (often a van with BUS on the license plate) across the street from the resort will take you to "downtown" and the Swinging bridge, shopping, restaurants and Penha duty free. Busses run very often, just flag one down.

I was pleasantly surprised at just how warm and welcoming Sunscape was. My expectations were low initially, however, upon arriving the staff made me feel at home and the quiet ambiance quickly blew my expectations out of the park. I will definitely return if I am ever back in Curacao.

Went here for my honeymoon and it was absolutely amazing! The staff was great and let’s not talk about the food and atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting here again!

This resort is definitely a 3 star resort. The two best restaurants in my opinion are the oceans and blue water grille , the resort is dated , we stayed in 8219 and yes the room is dated , also missing a shower door and the toilet directly behind the door, I thought was weird, but anyways the coco cafe is good , the buffet was so-so the Italian was the worse, not because of the food , the food is not bad but the service is so bad my wife and I got up and walked out, when you see other patrons sit down after you and get their dinner and drinks and leave and your still sitting and all you get are excuses when you ask, in my opinion it’s time to leave. The Japanese was pretty good, so overall, my opinion it’s a okay resort , employees are super nice food is okay , evening entertainment is really good , now you ask , would I return to this resort, hmmmmm can’t answer that question at this point, cheers

Travelled to Sunscape Curacao by Air Canada. Flight and transportation to the hotel was smooth. Front desk staff were quick and friendly. We were assigned room 2047 which is in the multi story building. The rooms were a bit dated, but bed was comfortable, and it was clean. The fridge was stocked with four bottled beer, pop and water. Water was not supplied on some days, but could be picked up at the coffee bar. Great view of the ocean, but got a little noisy at night when the entertainment was going on. All the musicians performed outside the building. The restaurants were great, and we went to the Japanese, Italian, steak house, and sea food restaurants. Staff were always and hard-working and friendly, but at times seemed a bit too thin. We had a prime rib steak on Saturday March 21st at the steak house, which was outstanding. We returned on March 22nd and raved the about the pervious night to other guests, but what a disappointment. The steak was like shoe leather. About half the size and definitely was not rib eye. Not sure what happened from day to day. My wife liked the Japanese restaurant the best. The sea food restaurant on the beach and the mahi mahi was also top notch. The ocean out front was great for snorkelling, and most of the fish were located on the rock retaining wall. Saw many fish, and a school of squid. There are rocks on some area's when you enter the water, but if you pick your spots it is sandy, and no need for water shoes. Always got coffee in the morning at the coffee shop and the attendant was the best. Most people start reserving chairs in the morning, but there were plenty around the beach and the pool. Went into Willemstad one day and grabbed the black van from the bus stop across the street. They run every 10 minutes approximately. It was $2 U.S. per person each way. It was only a 5-10 minute drive. Lots of shops and restaurants. They pick you up at where they drop you off. Look for the Sunscape sign in the front window on the return. Great vacation - good value. We had attended 9 years ago. The only difference is the VIP sections which most hotels are going to in an attempt squeeze extra dollars. Not a big fan.

We spent two weeks at the Sunscape Curacao Resort, Spa and Casino. We were happy we upgraded to a Sun Club ocean view room. It was nice to have the Sun Club pool as it was quieter and access to premium alcohol. Our bartender Kenneth at the sun club pool provided great service and was very knowledgeable. He speaks 5 languages and didn't have any issues communicating with people. The food was good at the buffet and all the restaurants at the resort. Service varied depending on time. We did hear people complaining about everything but we were happy someone did all the meal planning and cleaning for the two weeks we were there. We enjoyed the ice cream located just outside of the buffet restaurant offered daily as well. Our room was always clean and Carmene was a pleasure to deal with. Our room was located in the tower and could hear music from our resort and the resort beside the Sunscape which made it difficult to sleep on most nights. The resort appeared to be short staffed as our room fridge didn't always get replenished daily. It was easy to pick up bottles of water at the Coco cafe or at the Sun Club office. The snorkeling at the resort was fantastic and was the main reason we stayed at this resort. So many different and colorful fish to see and we also saw a Caribbean squid and a snake eel. We will stay here next year as well. We did not use the spa or the gym. There were daily 8:00 am yoga classes.
