Prince of Wales

Not a good experience. A good hotel is one that cares about the small things as well as the overall impression. The AC in the room did not work, unfortunately it was nearly midnight when we realized this, since we returned to the room after a late meal. We reported it on their text app, but apparently, that is ignored by human staff. We thought about going to the desk to complain, but it we didn't want to change rooms (if they had any) or wait for a technician at that time. So we had an uncomfortable night. The room had a king bed, but no king pillows, having lots of the wrong sized pillows does not really work. An uncomfortable night on an uncomfortable bed, they had put another mattress over the original mattress, this did not work . When we checked out and we mentioned the AC did not function the staff did not seem to care. I would not say 4 star rated hotel, struggling to get the 3 in my opinion. Very disappointing as a stay.

Victorian decor, location, Gil e you fresh roses on your pillow at night which was a nice touch

An espresso machine in room but no coffeemaker, no small icebox,air conditioning was weak,our room was at the far end and the doors near our car would lock and not reopen with keycard. Seemed overpriced

Just returned from spending three wonderful night at the Prince of Wales. The hotel is truly beautiful. The lobby is lovely with fresh roses everywhere. The service was impeccable. One day it rained heavily and we were perfectly happy to spend the day in the hotel. Had a massage, swam in the magnificent indoor pool, then had dinner and drinks in the bar listening to live music. Worth every penny.
