Came here for 1 night. Staff made the short experience memorable. Room was prepared nicely with a birthday surprise. My husband booked a special dinner on the rocks and personal server, Bintang, elevated the experience with his attentiveness and special attention to detail explaining the constellations to us when we realised we were watching the stars. Thank you Bintang and all the staff. Wonderful:)

On booking, I was advised that my stay included a spa treatment, transfers, plant based lunch for 2 and also an in-villa dinner for 2. After requesting a discounted rate for 1 pax, this was refused, even though I did not require food for 2 people. I don’t understand the reason for this. Despite including 2 way transfers, I was advised that this was only to and from the ferry, and so any transfer from a nearby hotel (approximately another 5 minutes further away) was not covered and chargeable. This seemed a little mean spirited. I arrived at 11.30am (on a transfer arranged by Banyan Tree) as I had a 12pm massage booked as part of my package. Unfortunately on arrival, there was no record of my massage (despite emails) and I think also some confusion with my room, since the check in took quite some time. Since my room was not yet ready, I went to have lunch. Unfortunately the plant based menu needed to be booked 2 days in advance (which I had not been previously advised about when I organised my transfers) and so was unavailable. Instead I was offered an a la carte lunch, which was fine by me. My room was ready shortly afterwards and was spacious and clean with fantastic views. The room itself was very dated and very dark. The spa water did not seem very clean. My rescheduled massage was great. I had a lovely afternoon relaxing by the pool - I had it to myself for several hours. My in villa dinner was good, although I had asked for a small amount of food, and not only was it huge, it was for 2 pax! A huge waste of food. Breakfast was generous and tasty and the staff were nice. On check out, both the spa session and a la carte lunch had been added to my bill and needed to be removed. Overall I felt like it was a mistake to stay here. I should have stayed an extra night at my previous hotel (Hotel Indigo) which was much cheaper and a much better overall experience. I do not recommend the Banyan Hotel Bintan.

Banyan tree level of service was second to none; very efficient and friendly and gentle. The rooms were spacious with very comfortable beds and luxurious linen. Gorgeous pools and all theee restaurants served delicious food! Housekeeping staff Lili, Daus and Mulyadi particularly delightful, cheerful and generous with their welcome flowers!

Must do: Book Zumba with Benny. He is amazing. It will be the highlight of your trip. Plus: Lilil, Daus and Mulyadi our housekeepers made my Mum’s birthday so special but a private singing session of happy birthday inside our villa and the most beautiful flower and tealight arrangement. We love the Banyan tree for being in the jungle and a true authentic Indonesian experience whilst feeling so elevated and special. We will be back!!

Amazing. We had a 100% positive experience in Banyan Tree Bintan. We are avid resort travellers and have experienced plenty 5 star properties. Bintan was a true surprise and is one of the standout resorts in terms of service and beach quality! from start to finish, EVERYONE is warm and friendly! What impressed was many remembered our names. Shoutout to Kasir, who made us feel at home and comfortable.

Love the experience doing the Tree Trek with Luna and Micha! They have vast knowledge on the types of trees! Enjoyed it so much
