Sonder at McKinley

While the concept is good, the execution is bad. They don't tell you in advance that the Sonder suites are inside a building that's well labeled as The Stewart. Nothing says Sonder on the exterior of the building. You have to pick up a parking garage door transponder from a locked box then figure out which garage door it was supposed to open. Ours did not work and we had to tailgate someone else into the secure part of the garage. When we called to report the malfunction,it was very difficult to get the problem across to the person who answered the call. Eventually, they put another transponder into yet another locked box with another code. There is no building ci ceirge that can help Sonder renters. It is not a hotel. The suite (403) was spacious but very 'tired' looking and feeling. The bed and the pull out couch weren't very comfortable. Clean enough though. There is a tram stop right under the room and the noise was horrific all night. The tram bells were very loud. We explored the pool (unheated) and pool patio (very nice) and discovered that the residents of the building absolutely hate the Sonder renters because no one monitors their behavior in the building and they have caused many problems in the building such as broken glass in the pool or hot tub. To comply with health codes, the pool and hot tub have to be drained and inspected before reopening, sometimes taking a week. All in all, we would not book a Sonder again and pay a bit more to stay at a real hotel.

I was a bit inconvenienced. I wasn’t informed that someone would be by to change the filters. They were overly insistent about coming in to the apartment. It frightened me. I called concierge, and had them on speaker phone to hear them tell them to comeback another day. They still insisted, they left after I threatened to get my money back.

This was absolutely perfect for my business trip. In and out very easily.

Great place to stay- close to everything you need. A bit loud at night with constrution happening close by and also a night club across the street that gets very busy on weekend nights. The pool and hot tub was fantastic. Lots of great restaurant's near by. We will be back.

Easy check-in, nice sized room, plenty of things to do in the area.

Parking is hard to park

Needs better service and help for checking in dealing with so many different codes and just basic entry information was a nightmare
