"Overall, enjoyed our overnight stay."

Beautiful grounds and on lake. The fireplace.

The bed sheets with dirt smudges on pillows and flat sheet.

"Management needs to focus on solving problems, not having employees lie."

6.0

There was no hot water in our room Friday night or Saturday morning. Reported to the desk - told too many folks taking showers. Which is just a lie. Being an engineer, I recognize that the showers are severely restricted on flow, and that the lodge is not full - it is off season. Saturday afternoon lovely hot water, that night, tepid, and Sunday morning, tepid. At 6:00 am. Hmm - too many folks taking showers again??? Seriously, you need to see to it that you don't lie to customers, and you need to resolve issues when they come up. I am disappointed.

"Always enjoying property, the history is a big draw for me."

8.0

The rustic history of the Lodge is always a plus. The huge fireplace in the lobby is one of my favorite items about the property. We happened to be there on a nice weather day, so strolling around the property was great.

The towels in the room were pretty ragged and coarse, I don't know what was causing all the tears in the towels but some fabric softener wouldn't hurt. And no outlet in the bathroom, so we couldn't plug in a night light. Wifi was good, but a cell tower in the area would probably make things alot better. Bring a book.

"A trip back in time"

The seclusion, break from technology and the news. The nearby trails among amazing old growth trees. The rooms was comfortable, clean and spacious with a lovely view of the lake.

"Lacking"

4.0

This was probably once a wonderful old place but much of the more recent updating has been done on the cheap. We stayed in the newer wing of the place and the room was large and had a great view but the bathroom - for the price - was spare. The molded tub/shower room was cramped and the tiny bar of soap and low quality shampoo left me wishing I'd brought my own. The heat didn't work. The very accommodating staff sent an extra comforter. Management comment here about the fact that wifi isn't provided because the place has a forest ambiance and people shouldn't be on their phones...except they all were. Guests paid the management company. Don't romanticize it. The only reason there isn't wifi is because they want you to pay extra. The great room of the lodge is cozy but the once beautiful fireplace has a gas bar across that gives a weak imitation of a crackling fire. We enjoyed sitting around there and playing games but the room lacked for not having a real fireplace. The kitchen was closed for some kind of repair. We didn't receive much notice. There are only a couple of nearby restaurants and they aren't very good. The women's locker room and sauna for changing for a swim were also unusable as they were under repair. The lodge should have adjusted the room costs to reflect the problems the place was experiencing. These things made a difference in the experience. I wouldn't go back since there are better resorts/lodges that are also close to hiking, have better amenities and better nearby restaurants or in-resort restaurants for the same price.

"Dissapointed with the facilities."

4.0

We recently spent a weekend at Lake Quinault Lodge, and while the location is nice, we were disappointed to find out that the restaurant facilities were being remodeled at the time of our booking. As a result, we faced significant limitations with the menu and service. We had dinner in the ballroom, which offered a restricted menu, but the quality of the food fell short of our expectations, and it certainly wasn't a good value for the price. I believe that Aramark takes advantage of its monopoly at the lodge within the national parks. Given the prices at this and other locations, I expected much more.
