"Disappointing Weekend Getaway"

2.0

We stayed at the Quinault Lodge in the Olympic National Forest on October 3 – 5. We spent over $300 a night for our lodge room. We had been here before and enjoyed the luxurious scenery and peaceful surroundings so chose it for our weekend getaway. We were incredibly disappointed this trip! When we arrived we discovered a large weekend Las Vegas style wedding was taking place on the front lawn. A large tent was erected that blocked our view of the lake from the deck, lobby and restaurant. Construction of the event and partying took place Friday evening. We went out for the day on Saturday to escape the festivities but came back to an all afternoon and evening wedding for around 100 people, The festivities and music were loud. The DJ used a microphone to emcee and played loud bass music all evening. When we asked the front desk when the music would end, they said it could continue until 10pm (their quiet hour). We had reservations for dinner at the hotel but left to find a restaurant elsewhere in need of peace. There was nowhere on the property to go to escape the loud music and DJ. When we asked to speak to a manager about the late music, we were told the manager was off site and couldn't speak to us at all. He was off site on Sunday also and non-responsive to our requests to talk. When we asked for a room further from the noise, they said there were none available and that we would not be compensated for our disappointing time at the hotel. Needless to say, our stay was a great disappointment. Although the location is incredible, we will never stay here again.

"Was great for a once in a lifetime but too expensive to go back. Dinner for 4 was about $ 350.00"

7.0

Breakfast was a good value. Location, Ambiance.

Like many older lodges, it was noisy, our particular room on the first floo off of the lobby was not a great room to have. Lots of noise right outside from mechanical and facilities. Be warned no shower with just a hand held in a clawfooted tub.

"Grubby in places, noisy, poor customer service"

4.0

Lovely setting and lodge grand room was lovely

Noisy room. Poor customer service. Disgusting communal shower in pool changing room. The other showers either didn’t work or were ice cold. Was asked to wear earplugs if the room was too noisy. Terrible!

"Wonderful Historic Lodge"

9.0

Beautiful location, historic building, very cosy in Autumn during our visit. Lots of hikes direct from the lodge. Great pool, really warm and absolutely empty on both our visits!

Not a dislike but should be noted the restaurant has limited lunch opening hours during low season. Advisable to book for dinner as restaurant was understaffed. The power went out due to a storm while we were there but the back up generators kicked in immediately and it didn’t affect anything.

"Things I wish I had known before booking, maybe my error."

7.0

Lovely setting. Excellent dinners. pleasant staff.

Our room was very cold. Furthest from the main building so got no internet unless I logged on in the office (difficult as I needed contact with my builder at the time). Room on 3rd floor, no elevator. I am 85.

"A Unique Stay by Lake Quinault"

8.0

This semi “off-the-grid” spot sits in a stunning lake setting surrounded by temperate rainforest trails, mountains, and endless trees. The real stars here are the hiking and the lake — both absolutely spectacular. It’s right across the street from the Quinault Rain Forest and just a short walk from the world’s largest spruce tree. Fall is especially beautiful when the leaves start to turn. The property itself is a bit worn and you’ll be charged for just about every upgrade or extra. In- room TV is limited to other property outside main hotel. Food and shopping options are limited, but that’s part of the charm if you plan ahead and want a little solitude. Heads up: there’s no cell service, and Wi-Fi is limited to about 90 minutes of free, spotty access per day. You can buy more time, but honestly, you probably won’t need it — you’ll be too busy soaking in the scenery. Just don’t expect to text or call while you’re here!

This property harks back to the days of cozy lodges with a fireplace, great room, and wonderful views. It is a fabulous location, even in the rain.
