Hotel Presidente

The hotel is an oasis once you step inside! it is beautiful! Very nice lobby, beautiful restaurant, and nice quiet rooms. I was concerned it would be loud being right on a bus street but my room was quiet and had great views. Very nice breakfast buffet and very cool common spaces in the hotel for working or hanging out. Staff very friendly!

My room was cleaned daily, the staff was pleasant and willing to help with whatever I needed. Breakfast was delicious.

Absolutely loved this hotel! We were there only one night but it was great. Beautiful hotel, clean, great staff. The only downer, the surrounding area was dirty and so many homeless people that it was a bit uncomfortable walking around.

The location is great, and you can walk to many places. There are many shops and restaurants nearby. The staff are very friendly and often recommend good restaurants and shops.

El Presidente is a charming hotel situated in the very heart of San Jose culture and activity. The lobby and rooms are lovely and the breakfast surpassed all expectations. The staff were especially helpful, the maintenance man even fixed my daughter’s broken sunglasses. We highly recommend this hotel especially over the chain hotels closer to the airport.

The service is outstanding. Anything we asked we got. Front desk agents were all friendly and personable! The best customer services we have experienced of all our hotel stays.

The rooms are very outdated, and the photos online did not accurately reflect what we experienced. On our first night, we discovered that the bed sheets were damp, and when pulling back the comforter, we found visible stains that looked like dirt or makeup. This prompted us to look around more closely, and we noticed a general lack of cleanliness dust was everywhere, including on the fire alarm directly above the bed (we took photos). Since we arrived late at night, we stayed for one night but decided to check out the next day, even though we had booked two nights. When we explained our concerns to the staff and requested a refund for the unused night, we were told to go through Expedia. However, when Expedia reached out to the hotel, the manager refused our refund request. At checkout, we even showed the front desk attendant the photos of the dirty comforter, but instead of acknowledging the issue, they simply said it would be changed and still denied a refund. The only positive aspect of our stay was the breakfast, which was genuinely good. Unfortunately, the overall experience, poor room conditions, lack of cleanliness, and unhelpful customer service does not justify the $300+ per night rate. We would not recommend this hotel.

The hotel is newly renovated and was beautiful and comfortable. It was very clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious as was the rooftop restaurant. I loved the wait staff at the restaurants. Overall, very nice and highly recommended.
