Best Western - Freeport Inn

We had to stay in the secondary lodging just down the road. That was not a problem except for the ongoing road construction which made a U turn necessary. the construction was also a hassle for finding a place to eat.

This hotel is split into 2 parts as many have mentioned - DONT pick the Riverview like we did! It is a building down the road. totally separate, behind a closed restaurant. They are redoing restaurant so maybe that will change but it isn't best western either way. We pulled into the drive and the building is secluded in the back with literally ZERO security. No inside hallway cameras, and from what I understand no outside ones either. When we got there the only security door was propped open, and 3 times we closed it an each time it was propped open again. This is a pet friendly hotel and some jerk let their dog poop in the hall. We did call and they came to clean it up in a timely manner. The rooms were ok, but we didn't feel safe at all so it doesn't matter. I even wrote to Best Western asking for a refund of points spent and they basically said thanks for the note, we will take it into consideration - meaning go away with your complaints! This place is for sure not the usual Best Western and from now on I will totally read even more reviews on here before choosing any hotels! Also, because we were in bottom area, had the pool been open we wouldn't be near it without driving, we were not near any food without driving, and we were certainly without assistance without driving to front desk. One note is we found their employees to be cordial and trying their best, so no issue there!

The room I got was not the one I reserved. I reserved a room with 2 double beds but I got a single king bed. The room was reserved for me, another man and my dog. Parking was terrible. I had to carry all our luggage up and down steps. Will not stay here again and I do not recommend

Bathroom shower was rusty floor was dirty the only thing that was clean was the sheets thank God 😔

Very dirty bathroom, hair all over. I just can’t imagine how long it’s been since it’s been washed to be this dirty, just gross.
