Occidental Tamarindo - All Inclusive

All-inclusive, but restrictions at every turn. Location is absolutely beautiful. Service is acceptable. However, the bartenders are incredible. Amiable, professional and funny. Edwin and Jose are incredible people. The buffet is sub-par. I am truly glad this location is close to town. The food there is amazing.

Traveled with family had my birthday there and valentines days walked the ocean can walk for ever, took a walk into town felt very safe.

Overall disappointing! A group of 10 and we were not allowed to move tables to sit together for meals. Inconsistent drinks. Bartenders need more training, Every day we had to get towels as they never brought enough to room as we were 3 people and only received 2 each day, 2 guests brought in hookers who were walking around half naked. Not something I need to see on vacation in a family resort. They should not have been allowed it. Could not swim in ocean, no sandy beach. Too rough and rocky. More for surfing than swimming, we never sit at pools but spent the week at the pool which thank goodness was a nice pool. Food at buffet was always cold, especially breakfast. Not a big selection. Overall would not recommend and will not return. Many people we spoke had the same opinion,

We met the most amazing person in the restaurant-Alexander Tenovio Alvarez- he was the best part of our stay! He made our special needs son feel so welcomed. The last morning there he brought him his breakfast- my son felt so special. We got pictures with him. Otherwises the service was terrible, everything we asked for was a big fat "no" and then you see other people be allowed to do what we asked for and couldn't. Food was always cold. Would not recommend.

Lacks quality for the value. I wouldn’t come back or recommend this hotel to anyone. I hate writing bad reviews but this one was unavoidable. I want people to understand what they’re walking into. It’s a far walk into town, the food quality was poor, the rooms were outdated, our showers never got hot, we had to move rooms without being warned that it was an issue when we checked in. For what we paid it was sadly such a poor experience.

location is great. beautiful grounds.national park borders on it.great beach when you cross estuary at appropriate tide time. twenty minute walk to town by road,forty five minute walk to town on beach that is a little rugged. eight dollar cab ride one way.tamarindo has everything from low end to high end. lots of bars ,restaurants and retail shopping. the current manager Brian showed a deep interest in customer experience and making the hotel all it can be. He personally rewarded me for returning for my ninth year. The resort meets all my needs but bear in mind it is a four star facility. If you are looking forincluded top shelf drinks,several al a carte restaurants luxurious rooms then you need to go to a five star and pay the price, the staff are six star and go the extra distance to make your stay great. just a few of the fantastic employees Alexander brekfast and lunch chef bartenders Edwin,Gustavo,Johan and Zu hazy Staff Tatiana,Etty,Ediina,Ruby and so many more.

The location is great right on the beach. You can walk into Tamarindo on the beach when the tide is out, beautiful walk takes about 40 minutes. The walk back on the street is only about 20 minutes. The resort is nice the pool is great and the grounds are beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are a little dated but clean roomy with a comfortable bed. The food at the buffet is decent and plentiful, lots of salads and fruit if you’re into healthy eating. The 2 on site restaurants are very good, one Italian and the other Japanese. La Fontina has great Italian choices, a romantic Italian atmosphere. Kyoto has tasty Japanese grill and sushi options. Genesis and Ximena provide great service and a fun atmosphere.

Beautiful beach, great food, and Adina was great at the restaurant. The hotel is a little dated and sometimes there were ugly smells, but overall a nice experience.

We had an amazing time. The weather was fantastic and the people were outstanding. The hotel is beautiful. The beach is so nice and long.

We loved the pool, restaurants and easy walk into town. We workout everyday and had to uber to a gym. The pool table at the lobby bar is trash.
