Slave Lake Inn & Conference Centre

We used this conference facility for a Junior Forest Warden AGM, we were very well treated by Pauline and all the staff! I really liked the layout of the hotel and found the rooms to be very quiet, they have 3 smaller board rooms and a medium sized board room for functions and a large ballroom. The food was good and we enjoyed the breakfast included in the room. You got 2 free breakfast coupons with the rooms and it was in the dining room each morning. The Inn has lots of parking and a Macdonalds is right behind the Inn within walking distance and a mall across the street with the Canadian Tire, Tim Hortons, Subway. I found the bed very comfortable. They are a pet friendly Inn and have a large courtyard which is in the center of the hotel and a great area to relax and visit. The outside entrances have key cards for safety. The only thing I think would be great would be handicap button on the main entrance.

My stay was very enjoyable except for the cigarette scent in the air. Stale air type of thing.

Check in was quick and efficient, our banquet was fantastic including a great meal and my room was clean and the bed was comfortable. In the bathtub area there needs to be repairs done...new drain plug, new caulking and new paint as it was peeling.

It was a great stay but their business centre was not working and their was no pool.

Check in receptionist (Ann) cool, inefficient. We were given a room that had not been made up,

We stayed here for a week while attending a conference in Slave Lake. Hotel is on the old side as I stayed here back in the late 70's when it was new. It looks its age but don't let that scare you away. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Rooms are clean with all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. We had a very comfortable king sized bed. A new TV in our room with plenty of channels to choose from. The AC wasn't working and the room got a little warm. This might pose a problem in the summer but we stayed here just recent and the open window worked for us. This is a rather large hotel with a lot of rooms so you might have to walk a little ways to the front desk from where you are placed in the hotel. They have a great continental breakfast with hot food. We had a quiet stay, although there didn't appear to be much going on in the area so not many folks staying here at this time of year.

Older hotel in need of renovations. Restaurant and breakfast are better than most and staff is very accommodating
