Slave Lake Inn & Conference Centre

Hotel and staff good Expedia sucks I will never book a hotel using them again. I phoned ahead two days after booking with Expedia and room was not booked. When hotel staff finally found booking the room was incorrect.

The hotel was conveniently located and room was large and comfortable. The rear access from the parking lot was handy for luggage transfer. The restaurant service was good and meals were very enjoyable. All in all, a very nice stay in Slave Lake.

Decent place to stay. I found the room to be well appointed and cleaner than the Holiday Inn in town. Bathroom is small.

Was amazing to stop by for the night they accommodated my 2 Saint Bernards that we always have with us. Staff was awesome, at check out even had some staff taking pictures with our big guy☺️

Newly renovated room. Standard accommodations but clean and quiet. Close to downtown and several eating options within walking distance.

Pauline was great to deal with and the only reason that we didn't give them a 1 rating. She was punctual, extremely friendly and very helpful. Later in the evening when there was an issue with the water in our room we called the front desk ( Water was coming in VERY yellow ) . They said someone would come look at it. Two hours went by and no one came to check on it. I went to the front desk to ask if the issue had been looked into in the plumbing. He said someone came to the room and fixed the issue. I was in the room the entire two hours. No one came at all so he lied about that. They then switched us rooms which a staff member mentioned that it really didn't matter that they switched our room to another on the same wing because all the plumbings connected. Needless to say I was not happy that I was unable to shower/ brush my teeth etc due to fear of contaminated water in that room.

Rooms are brighter and upgraded since last stay. However breakfast has gone downhill, also pub menu has barely 4 items including appetizer😯. On a side note: when visiting Slave Lake look up and visit Dog Island Brewery. Its a local beer microbrewery with exceptional quality beer. Be sure to bring your growler or purchase one of theirs!

The evening front desk clerk was very helpful as was the lady in the breakfast area. The room was clean and comfortable but there is a lingering smell of smoke in the room. Probably cleaning the carpets and curtains would eliminate this.
