Residence Inn Indianapolis Northwest

We stayed here for one night in a 2bdr suite and were overall happy with our stay. Spacious room with fully equipped kitchen, comfy beds and no noise issues. Breakfast was you typical US one, but the breakfast lady was very service minded. Only reason why they are losing a star is that I was so unfortunate to move the sofa slightly to get access to a wall socket and what I saw behind that sofa wasn't very pleasant. Judging by what we found there I doubt that this area has been cleaned this year at least..

Freshness and appearance. Parking lot clean. Small efficient apparent style room. Breakfast was OK but running out of French vanilla? OUCH

Everything was really good until I opened the curtains to find severe water damage in window area. Then the occasional door knob falling off to closet. Bed seems fitted on both edges. You can just tell someone has slept on the bed really badly.

Beautiful room for a great price. Nice and big, too. We never felt crowded. The bed was super comfortable and even the pull out couch was above expectations. On top of that, we had a full kitchen and plenty of space for games and other activities.

The front staff at this location are very well trained to provide friendly customer service. I directly dealt with five of them for requests and questions. I forgot a number of items and was offered generous selection and quantity to meet my needs. Breakfast included individually packaged breakfast sandwiches, bagels to toast, cereal, oatmeal, packaged boiled eggs, apples and bananas, and on weekdays, fresh waffles. I especially appreciated the grab and go breakfast sandwiches, as they let me grab enough for my whole crew to enjoy in the room. The rooms were clean and comfortable with excellent water pressure in the shower. The work area in the room was very well appointed. The surface area was large and ergonomically shaped. Multiple adjustable lighting sources and copious, easy to access outlets with USB charging ports were located around the room. Seriously, this place is bursting with places to charge: both sides of the bed, the desk, the dining set, and the couch all had plugs at surface level. The complaints are tiny, but needed in a review. I would have liked to see fresh towels in the pool area. Also, the cookware in room needs updating. The pan in mine has a warped bottom that made it difficult to cook in.

Good location and staff, some amenities need repair (common BBQ), garbage collection (common areas like hallways) at more frequent basis would keep foil odours down, would love to see recycling capabilities

If I could give them no stars I would. We were in Indianapolis for a WNBA game I could not believe my eyes when my daughter was eating and roaches were crawling up the pizza box on the table. We were so disgusted and disappointed. When we called the front desk they gave us the run around saying that there was no other room available in the hotel and that they can come up and spray the room. Then we asked them to relocate us to another sister hotel they said everything was booked due to an event but all of a sudden a 2 bedroom suite appeared on their monitor. This is just insane I have stayed at so many top name hotels and never encountered a problem dirty like this. It’s just ridiculous that they tried to make us stay in the same room that they were going to spray chemicals while we were going to sleep in the room. They never offered to refund us the money we spent on the food that we couldn’t eat because of their dirtiness. We will never stay in a hotel near that area.

Having been locked down in our country (Australia) this was my return to this hotel after two years. Also after reading some recent reviews that were not very complimentary I nervously booked this for 4 days in late May. When I arrived and checked in the girls on reception were great and very welcoming and once they guessed where I was from (due to my accent), we struck up some very humorous conversation. My room was right around the back of the hotel which suited me as it was very quiet. The room was very clean and tidy, and the housekeeping staff - although not making up the rooms each day - at least offered me new towels and condiments - which is all I expected. I have previously (for 5 years) given this hotel excellent reviews however my opinion has now changed substantially. During my stay I went to reception to try an re-book for the following year (as I had done in previous years), and was told that I would have to do this on-line once bookings re-open. Taking this in good faith I accepted this. Once I returned to Australia I logged in to re-book and kept getting a message "sold out". So as I wasn't sure if I had been included in the "sold out" status I phoned the hotel and was diverted to global reservations. After explaining my plight to them they said I should send an email directly to this hotels GM and provided me with the direct email address. Now this is where my problem begins. I have emailed this hotels GM on 3 occasions and have not had a reply or even the courtesy of an acknowledgment. I have also tried unsuccessfully recalling the hotel directly but they divert calls to the global reservation system. I have logged complaints with Marriott directly - but nothing back. My request was simple - all I needed to know is if I was included for the following year or not. If yes then great and if No then that's OK as I have options on another property for 2023. To cut a long story short the after stay experience is absolutely disgraceful, and I would have thought that the GM would have personally intervened. I also would have hoped that Marriott BV frequent visitors might have been treated a little better than this.
