Colfax Inn

I needed to choose between sleeping in the car or there. Second the driveway in so rough not get low profile vehicle friendly. Just blah nothing good but not the worse place either

Water stains in toilet yikes, terrible...my key wouldn't work... battery bad in lock Price is good TV worked Smells absolutely terrible in hallway Only 1 other guest in hotel a big flag Normally would stay closer to Des Moines

NOTHING

Room was clean price was cheap and a place to sleep was safe. What more do do need

So far this is the worst place I've ever stayed. Didn't cancel because disnt want to lose my money but geeezz... wouldn't recommend this to no one. Bed crew service, really dirty place, bathroom was nasty

I honestly can’t even believe you would offer this abandoned rundown creepy unsafe horror scene as a hotel option period! We arrived late around 10 PM or so during a snow storm with freezing temps and scarcely visible driving conditions ready to relax. There was not one outdoor light anywhere in or around the parking lot nor did they have any lights even on the building or by the entry anywhere, there were two vehicles parked side by side at one end of the hotel that looked as if they had been broken down and abandoned with the ghost town hotel ages ago! As we pull near the dark scary looking entry a man in all dark clothing with a shovel walks the sidewalk going around the building, inside a man who can’t speak any English I’m struggling to tell him I had a reservation eventually seems to understand and says “ID! ID!? I hand it to him he takes it goes straight to his cell makes a call where he then tells the person on the other line everything on my ID and takes a picture of it never once even touching his computer. The man never acknowledges my boyfriend at all, as we are finishing up the shovel man walks in smiles disappears we go back to our car and tried to park but got stuck because nothing had been shoveled. In our room on two mirrors and the window there are wet dripping crosses marked by someone fingers that had just put them there upon our arrival. Vending machines had 3 packs of peanuts and no drinks no cups and an ice cold room! The worst hotel stay ever!!!

Tried to chatge me $30 for what im not sure. No lights on in parking lot it was so dark you thought they were closed.

I was on a business trip to Altoona,IA and decided to stay in Colfax INN off the 80 west highway Exit 155. I was offer an amazing welcome by the hotel manager Mr. Bob, and his family. They were very friendly, and down to earth nice people. I was really impressed by a very clean room, bathroom, towels, shower and comfortable big room. The room got everything I need to spend a comfortable quiet night in a king size bed, and the room was equipped with Frigidaire, Air Conditioning, Microwave Big sofa Perfect wall and table lightning Safe and secured Parking Swimming pool Kitchen and much more Next day I have decided to stay longer and I was offered a very competitive price.

This place should not even be allowed to be open. No Breakfast, Pool nonfunctional, elevator doesn’t work. Security doors were propped open with a rock because card access didn't work. Owner very unfriendly. Our room had black tar all over the floor and couch. We stayed only because there was no other place to go with Sprint Car Nationals going on. Why we were there as well.
