The Reef Coco Beach Resort & Spa- Optional All Inclusive

When I reminisce on my friend group’s spring break trip at The Reef at Coco Beach, so many fond memories come to mind: spending long, luxurious days on the beach; munching on scrumptious breakfasts at the buffet; indulging in frozen mojitos by the pool. But one experience stands above all, and that is our time with Alan, our incredible server all 4 nights at the hotel’s Italian and Mexican restaurants. From the moment we sat down at our first dinner, Alan couldn’t have been kinder, funnier, or more helpful, wowing us with his witty jokes and giving us top-notch recommendations for how to spend our time in Playa del Carmen. Alan’s positivity, keen sense of humor, and warmth brightened each one of our nights, providing us with a dining experience even more memorable than the delicious food and cocktails. As college seniors, we wanted our last spring break together to be special. The Reef at Coco Beach exceeded all our expectations, and we are so grateful for the kindness and generosity of all of the staff members who made our time here so amazing.

What a great trip and resort with the most wonderful staff. The beach was beautiful, the amenities, including a self-serve ice cream machine, were fantastic, but it was truly the people that made the Reef at Coco Beach stand out. The dining options at the Italian and Mexican restaurants were particularly great, but our server Alan made going to dinner the highlight of our day. Alan brought a truly bright and inspiring attitude to every dinner we had with him. Quick to a joke and always ready with custom drink or food recommendation, he truly is a joy. What a wonderful human being, he made our trip one we won’t soon forget.

I stayed with a group of friends at the Reef Coco Beach and had a wonderful time! The resort itself is beautiful, but the people are really what makes it amazing. From the beginning of our trip, we were greeted with incredible hospitality. The dining options are all fantastic (including a robust buffet, delicious snack bar, and multiple finer-dining restaurant experiences), but the Mexican and Italian restaurants stand out the most. We had the privilege of spending time with our sever, Alan. Through our dining experiences with him, we shared countless laughs, enjoyed more personalized dining experiences, and learned about the culture and importance of Mexican cuisine through Alan’s expertise. He created specialty cocktails based on what he thought we might like, shared stories about his culture, recommended activities, and remained a constant light throughout our trip. Our trip would not have been the same without him. Alan’s character speaks volumes about the atmosphere this resort seeks to create. All of the staff members are welcoming and pay incredible attention to detail. Through their planned pool activities, food and bar service, beach attendance, front desk help, and more, the staff members created an experience we will never forget. At the end of our trip, all I can think to say is that this is a vacation that will create memories that will last a lifetime. We greatly look forward to our next stay at The Reef Coco Beach and give a very special thanks to Alan for making it all the more special! If you have the pleasure of meeting Alan, consider yourself lucky and get ready for a great vacation- we would come back just to see him again!

Had a wonderful stay at the Reef at Coco Beach. Beautiful scenery and amenities. All of the dining options are incredible, but by far the highlight was our server at both Mexican and Italian restaurants, Alan. Every night, Alan welcomed us with creative cocktails, delicious food, and hilarious jokes. Alan recommended local Mexican dishes and drinks that were divine and his bright, joyous energy was certainly the highlight of my trip. The resort grounds are intimate and beautifully maintained. The pool is large and offers great entertainment for all patrons, young and old. The beach area is pristine and the water beautiful. Staff across the resort are immensely generous and welcoming. Rooms are spacious and bright, all with sunny balconies overlooking the pool or beach. The resort is located conveniently within Playa del Carmen and access to bars and shopping is easy. I implore everyone to embark on a vacation at the Reef at Coco Beach and be sure to dine with Alan, you will not regret it!

Not really a resort - it is a hotel with two building and a pool in the middle - that’s a hotel not a resort and spa. This was deceiving
