"First-Time Visit to Sandals Royal Caribbean – A Memorable Anniversary Getaway!"

10.0

This was my first visit to both Jamaica and a Sandals resort, and my husband’s second for each. We’re avid travelers and have been to many all-inclusives—Secrets, Excellence, RIU, Iberostar, Grand Palladium, Valentine—you name it. So we arrived with pretty high expectations! Resort Size & Layout Royal Caribbean is definitely on the smaller side compared to some of the sprawling resorts we’ve visited. The pools and beach areas are more intimate, but that actually worked to our advantage—everything is so accessible. Forgot something in your room? You can be back in under 10 minutes without missing a beat. The grounds are beautiful, well-kept, and the beach is absolutely stunning—clear water, soft sand, and no rocks. I’m typically a pool girl all day, but this time we spent 90% of our time in the ocean. That says a lot! Room & Butler Experience We stayed in the Romeo & Juliet balcony suite, and it was perfect! This was our first experience with butler service, and Rayo and Jocelyn truly set the bar high. They were attentive, kind, funny, and always made us feel like VIPs—especially for our 20th wedding anniversary. They even dropped by in person just to check in, which felt way more personal than a call. Coordinating dinner plans with our friends’ butlers couldn’t have been easy for the week, but they made it seamless! Shoutout to Andre! Our friends’ butler, Andre, deserves a huge shoutout. On our last night, there was an apparent miscommunication with our Butch’s reservation. We were told there was no reservation on file and they contacted Royal Caribbean to speak to Andre and within 10 minutes, who came running up the sidewalk at Montego Bay? Andre!!! He went inside, worked his magic, and then personally escorted us to our table. Andre for the win!! That left a lasting impression! Food & Drinks The food overall was good—no complaints! Don’t miss the jerk shack. The jerk chicken and fish in foil were fabulous. Do not miss out on getting yourself some!! Loved that there is always fresh coffee and those yummy oatmeal raisin cookies available throughout the day & night by the pool area. Sometimes at the end of the night you want a cup of coffee and a cookie on the way to your room. :) Entertainment Nightly entertainment was a mixed bag. The violinist, steel drum band, and singers were top-notch and super talented! The silent disco, which is usually one of our favorite activities at resorts, was a bit of a letdown. Only two channels were available, both with Jamaican/hip hop. Normally there’s more variety (80s/90s, EDM, pop, etc.), so people lost interest quickly and left. Noise from the Airport Being so close to the airport is a huge perk—you’re at the resort in minutes! Yes, you do hear planes fly overhead, especially when at the beach, and you might have to pause conversations momentarily. But it’s brief, and you don’t hear anything at night. Small price to pay I'd say. Final Thoughts All in all, we loved our stay at Sandals Royal Caribbean and would definitely return. The staff’s hospitality, the intimate layout, and the beautiful beach made for a wonderful experience. We even rebooked another Sandals resort before leaving and will definitely be watching for specials to come back to RC again!

Our Butler Andre made our Anniversary so very special. We have been coming here for 11yrs. and have experienced all the highs of a great entertainment show. However, this year was the worst. There was no personableness and entertainment show to begin with. They did not announce any shows or events that informed us of upcoming events. I approached Mrs. Marshalee the entertainment manager about interacting with the guests and encouraging them to participate in events and she informed me that, and I quote, “When we have to prepare and set up for other events, we don’t have time for that, we just put the items out & allow the guests to do their own thing.” It was then that I asked again, “So you are not gonna announce or ask for participation?” She stated, “No, we don’t.” Our Butler Andre was the best. He made sure we were happy and enjoyed other activities and festivities to make our stay eventful. We did have good experiences with our dining with Mrs. Nejdra at the Spices. And although our butlers Andre & Marcuelle were awesome, whenever we needed anything, Nicole, Rayo & Sherry-Anne assisted us with anything we needed. Andre & Rayo were awesome and despite Rayo not being paired with us, he was a great Support for Andre.

"Still our favorite"

8.0

The service and food are still the best we've had - the staff is amazing overall. We were disappointed that there is no longer a piano bar (something we enjoyed on previous visits and at other Sandals resorts). On a few occasions there was an activity scheduled, but no one showed up to lead it. The entertainment staff deserves a special shout-out. They were talented and professional in the evening shows!

"Sandals Royal Caribbean"

8.0

Just got back from a week at Sandals Royal Caribbean to celebrate our anniversary. The resort is much smaller than we had anticipated. We talked with other guests who compared it to a retirement home. Everyone is using bed by 9 because there is not much to do after dinner. We did enjoy the ability to go to Sandals Montego Bay next door, which is much bigger and had more nightlife. The resort is going through quite a bit of construction right now. You could hear the workers all day long, and the private island is basically dead right now, as the pool is being renovated as well as the over the water bungalows. We would have preferred to have known that prior. Highlights of the trip were the couples beach massage and the sunset catamaran cruise. I highly recommend both! We had a butler suite, and Kevoy and Francois were our butlers. Kevoy was outstanding!! He is warm and friendly and went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our time there. Unfortunately, Francois was not quite as attentive. We felt as if we were an obligation to him. We just did not receive the same service from Francois as we did from Kevoy, and when Kevoy had his days off, we felt like we were on our own. Francois didn’t even show up on our last morning there, so we were on our own to check out, which is fine, but when you pay for butler service, there are certain expectations that just were not met. The other staff kept asking where our butler was, and we had no idea. Overall, we had a great vacation, and we did book another trip, but will be at a larger resort next time.

"This was by far my best vacation!"

10.0

My husband and I decided to give Sandals Royal Caribbean. We absolutely loved it. The staff was happy to have us there and it showed. Room was clean and staff kept it in tiptop shape. Beach was clean and Terrence the lifeguard was phenomenal! Our server Marvin was awesome! He kept our drinks coming. Spices and Bombay were our favorite hangouts. We dropped by Montego and had sushi. We loved it so much, we spoke to Camille to set us up on July 2026. But, guess what… we are heading back this August. Shhhh it’s a surprise! Go there and fall in love!

"Anniversary and birthday trip"

10.0

This was our first Sandals stay. We had a balcony soaking tub room with Butler service. Our butlers Jerome and Kristoff were truly amazing and attentive. They set up our chairs each day on the beach and brought lunch out to us each day. They had our room decorated for our anniversary with a tub of hot water and flower petals. I will never travel again without butler service. The food at Spices and Bombay were both outstanding. Though allow for ample dining time because, as is Jamaica’s way, they take their time bringing out the food. We can’t wait to book our next experience!

"A Magical First Sandals Experience – With Ocean Views, Great Service, and a Few Furry Friends"

10.0

This was our very first time staying at a Sandals resort, and my wife and I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Sandals Royal Caribbean. We booked a 4-night Club Level room with a soaking tub on the balcony and were treated to stunning ocean views. It was the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. We took full advantage of the included water activities, especially snorkeling and the glass-bottom boat ride, which were both so much fun. The food was consistently excellent, and a special highlight was the grilled lobster at Spices—my wife still talks about it! One of the most unexpectedly heartwarming aspects of our stay was the presence of several stray cats around the resort grounds. As cat lovers ourselves (we have one at home), we absolutely adored seeing and feeding them each day. It became a little ritual we looked forward to. A huge thank you to resort management for allowing these precious animals to stay. It truly made our vacation more memorable. We also took the opportunity to visit the Sandals Montego Bay sister property with the intention of dining at Butch’s and Oleander’s. Unfortunately, we weren’t aware that long pants are required for men at those restaurants, and we hadn’t packed any (after all, it’s Jamaica in July). Still, the visit wasn't wasted. We stumbled upon two adorable ginger cats near Soy restaurant, and spent some time playing with them. All of the restaurant staff were attentive and kind. We only wish we could remember all of their names! Shout outs to Orayon at Mariner Seaside Grill and Sherri Ann at Spices for their outstanding service and warm smiles. Thank you to everyone for making us feel so welcome! Evenings were just as enjoyable thanks to the nightly entertainment, including dancers, live music, singers, and karaoke at the Cricketeers Pub. It was the perfect way to wind down after a day of beach and sun. If we could offer a suggestion to enhance the guest experience: please add more umbrellas to the beach area. There’s definitely enough space for more, and we found ourselves waking up early to claim shaded loungers. Even then, most shaded loungers were already reserved for those that had butler service. A few things to note: - There is construction taking place both on a new building at the far end of the resort and on the private island, the latter unfortunately felt quite neglected. - Again the noticeable lack of available beach loungers with umbrellas for shade. - The resort is also located directly under a flight path, so planes do fly overhead during the day (though they seem to stop by around dinner time). - The main pool is on the smaller side, so we didn't spend any time there. Despite these minor (for us) points, our stay felt magical. We're dreaming of returning, especially once the overwater bungalows reopen. But next time, we’ll be sure to bring a pair of slacks and maybe a few extra cat treats.

"Ruined wedding"

2.0

We traveled to Sandals Royal Caribbean for what was supposed to be a stress free wedding experience. Both of us had been previously married and wanted to skip the hassle of a big wedding with guests. We were really sold on the elopement package for just the two of us. The planning process started good. We worked with a wedding planner at what I guess you would call the corporate level. We had very little we wanted to actually descide. We just wanted it to be simple. We didnt even want to pick music just simple basic stuff. They seemed very accommodating about our wishes. The problems started when we got to the resort. We were scheduled to meet our wedding planner in the lobby. We let the front desk know we were there and they said the planner would come find us. My fiancée at the time was wearing a big sash and tiara that said BRIDE (because she was excited). She was over half an hour late and only came to find us after we went to the Concierge's office and they called her. She claimed she had checked the lobby and didnt find us. No apology just very much a not my problem attitude. We then had to replan our wedding. Apparently nothing you work out with the corporate planner means anything. We had to pick music the night before the wedding because they could not accommodate our original request. Not only did we have to pick the music but supply them with one our cell phones unlocked with the music downloaded to it so they could play it over Bluetooth. There was rain in the forecast (absolutely not Sandals fault). We did ask however about an indoor backup location incase our outdoor wedding got stormed out. They said we dont have any indoor locations it NEVER rains for long. So it stormed the entire day, the day of our wedding. Not their fault but a indoor back up location wasnt much to ask. We delayed an hour and were told we had to just go for it. The gazebo we had reserved for the wedding wasnt even set up for the ceremony, just had furniture jamed into it. They were only able to accommodate one of the songs they made us pick as another device somewhere in the resort connected to the Bluetooth speaker and they couldnt figure it out. The souvenir copy of our wedding license blew out sea as the wedding planned just left it sitting on a table. The next day we were supposed to have breakfast in bed but it never showed up as the wedding planner never notified room service. We were supposed to have a couples massage but we were notified 20 min before we were to leave the room to head to the spa that they were beginning contruction on that part of the resort and it would have to be rescheduled. We had originally not intended to do any excursions however my parents had once visited Jamaica and had taken a picture on a waterfall. They wanted us to recreate it. We had looked it up and it was like a 3hr drive away so we were not going to do it. It had come up in conversation with the wedding planner that it would be nice but we had no interest in spending 3 hrs driving to the falls. They sold us on a catamaran cruise that went to the falls. She made it sound like a relaxing trip with hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Well it ended up being a 3.5 hour drive in a cramped shuttle bus (we literally drove past the falls) to another sandals resort. Boarded what ended up being a party boat that stopped along the way for other passengers to snorkel, at the being of the boat ride we were told no drinks till the ride back. The Hors d'oruvers was the finnest selection off the kids menu at Denny's. Obviously since the wedding had gotten rained out we had to postpone our pictures. Had to help my wife back into her dress and I back into my dress uniform. We went to meet the photographer who ended up being late which made us nice and hot, sweaty and irritable. The icing on the cake was after waiting 8 weeks for our marriage license. They got my age wrong by 10 years. You receive in the mail from Sandals ( who you have to send coppies of drivers license and birth certificate to, who you have to fill out applications with your date of birth on), that says verify the information is correct and if not write a letter explaing the problem and mail it back. Apparently you are the quality control because they dont take the time to double check. Dont do it. Dont trust them with your wedding.

"Butler service"

10.0

My husband and I went to Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort for our "30th" Wedding anniversary. We stayed in the honeymoon suite with Butler service. We had the pleasure of staying there for 7 days. First, let me say that Sandals resort did not disappoint. The resort was clean and well maintained. The ENTIRE staff their was extremely pleasant. The Butler service, well it was amazing. "Kevoy" and "Francious" were our Butlers. They were both so attentive and made us feel like we were family. On the day of our anniversary Kevoy brought me a rose to the beach, which all the guest that were around us admired. Kevoy surprised us by bringing coconut shrimp and fried chicken to the beach as a snack. Upon returning to our room we found it decorated with rose petals from the door to the Jacuzzi tub where a bottle of chilled champagne and a hot bath with special bath salts were waiting. We had ice cream sundae's waiting for us as well. Our room was decorated with Happy Anniversary banners on our bed with a heart made of rose petals. To say that we were pleased with our time at Sandals resort would be an understatement. Each and every day Kevoy/Francious made sure that we had whatever we wanted. Kevoy even introduced us to a drink called "Sky Juice", which my husband and I loved. We enjoyed it so much that when we got back home, I went out and bought a blender and the ingredients to make one. Kevoy was very personable and friendly and made us feel like we were his only guests. There were two restaurants the were hard to get reservations at. But, Francious worked his magic and was able to get us reservations at these restaurants. I must say that the food was absolutely delicious and did not disappoint. One day while we were on the beach, Francious brought us some drinks. My husband was out in the lagoon and he challenge Francious to to bring him his drink while he was in the lagoon, Francious just laughed. But, the next time Francious brought us drinks he had his pant legs rolled up and was ready to take my husband's drink to him while he was in the lagoon but, my husband beat him to the shore. Francious definitely deserves "BIG KUDOS" for that. We were sad when our time on the resort was over, but Kevoy was there to give us his send off with warmth and compassion. These 2 men are the epitome of grace, compassion and professionalism. In fact the next time we go to the Royal Caribbean resort, we want Kevoy and Francious as our butlers. They are an amazing team. If your ever at the Royal Caribbean Resort in Jamacia and you want to be pampered, ask for these two gentleman. You won't be disappointed. Thanks Kevoy and Francious for making our anniversary an memorable one. Mike/Bette
