Sandals Royal Caribbean - ALL INCLUSIVE Couples Only

This was second year in the row we visited Sandals Royal Caribbean. We met two other couples. We have visited over a dozen all inclusive resorts. This was the first time we returned to same property. Last year could not say anything bad. This year a few concerns. Butler room was again fantastic. Nicole and Ian did everything and more. The service throughout the resort, from the big boss Dawn, to the gardening staff was so welcoming. The main problem was the food service for me. We stayed 6 nights and had 2 bad dinners and 2 bad lunches. Now 1 dinner was at Butches at Mobay. Sandals is a premium cost resort. So everything should be premium. Next year will try South Coast.

Not all staff are friendly. Most staff expect a tip. This was our second sandals resort and I got to say...it was very disappointing. The first night we went to dinner at Spices and waited 30mins for our drinks and almost an hour for our dinner. We were furious and walked out. Ofcourse right when we are walking out manager said our food was ready but by then we were over it. They only have one bar open until 2 and its the bar they use for most of there restaurants. There's no coffee shop here so you have to take a shuttle bus to montego bay. We made all the necessary reservations on our second day here but they booked Butchs steak house on a time when the shuttle bus is on a break. So the front desk Vanessa was so nice and asked for us and they were able to accommodate us once the shuttle bus was back on. When we got there they informed us that there was no reservation even made for our original date and time. Which doesn't surprise me considering the lady at the culinary making the reservations was rude while we were making them. There was three bartenders we liked. Horeece, Donovan and Chris. They were friendly and actually made conversation with us. We always looked for them when we were getting drinks. The entertainment was ok. I was looking forward to silent night (music in headphones two different stations to listen to music) but ofcourse that was a bummer. They played reggae in one station and rap/hip hop on the other which made no sense considering most of the guest at this resort are OLD and not everyone listens to rap/hip hop. They need to look at the crowd and play music accordingly . BEST PART OF OUR VACATION WAS.... The dive shop. We ended up getting certified for scuba diving and our instructor was Dwayne "Big Meesh". He was amazing. Couldn't of asked for a better person. He was funny and understanding of my fears. We looked forward to seeing him every morning. Such good vibes.

Amazing resort with full access to sister resort. Royal Caribbean was quiet and beautiful. Never had to look for staff. We had the butler experience (Chad & Kenrick) who were amazing. The rooms were beautiful and the property was well maintained. Felt safe on the resorts the entire time

Amazing resort. Well kept. Rooms are updated and nice. Staff is friendly. We will 100% return. Already booked our next trip. Rayo and Cooper are the most outstanding butlers, and made this trip so much more special. Kim, in the loyalty lounge went above and beyond to help us find the best deal on our next vacation.

There were so many great things about our trip to this resort, but I wish I would have known some of the negatives ahead of time. The food quality and service was really hit or miss. Our check in was past 4, so we couldn’t book reservations at any of the reservations required spots that day. We went to the walk in spot and it wasn’t very busy. It took 20 minutes to get drinks and over 2 hours to get our food. 4 tables who were sat after us received their food before us. When the food came out not all of the dishes were correct and it was ok quality. Fast forward on our trip, food service was much better at the reservation restaurants and quality was much better. Thai = some dishes were a bit bland but some were phenomenal. French = everything we tasted was great. The pub of all places which we didn’t even realize until the last day served food was GREAT (and the fastest)! Bartenders throughout were friendly and pretty fast. Sometimes they seemed to get annoyed with making shots. We weren’t ordering them non-stop, but still they weren’t thrilled. The entertainment team members were great! Tasheka, Happy Feet, and Dr. Smooth - you guys were great. Shout out to Marsha for slipping a mini- silent disco for us! We obviously came to this resort expecting and wanting a couples resort that wasn’t a rave party, but we weren’t expecting it to be quite so low key. The fire show and the one love show were great! We went over to the Montego Bay resort for one of the days to play pickleball and hang out. The pools at both are very small compared to resorts we are used to, but the layout and modern style of the Montego Bay is more youthful. Royal Caribbean is a bit more dated and needs some repairs and maybe a little modernization in some spots. Would we go to Sandals again based on our experience? Yes? But, if you’re 20-40, I would consider some of the other resort chains we’ve gone to first for the price we paid for this trip. If you’re looking for a quaint, romantic get away with phenomenal views and great overall service, I would however recommend this to be added to your short list!

Do yourself a favor and book a different resort . Communication is horrible here from the moment you step in the lobby and speak to the greet staff . In addition to being poorly trained and informed much of the staff is not friendly , particularly the bar and server staff . We spent time at the sister resort and it seems to be a much better ran resort it definitely had better entertainment , nicer hospitality staff . The transportation people were also helpful there . Just a much better vibe left me wishing we had booked there instead of royal .

We traveled last week for 5 nights with our 2 adult children and their significant others. That meant there were 6 people reading reviews in advance, needing coordination with meal fables, etc. We decided to try the Butler level category for the first time, hoping it would ease our coordination burden. WOW. I will get to Sherry Ann and Roland in a minute, but first the things we read online in advance that had us worried. Construction: Yes, the overwater bungalows were all being refurbished, but it had zero impact on our trip. Construction Noise: I guess if you really were paying attention, you might hear a random hammer or machine, but we were in the building closest to the construction and it was not an issue. Private Island Pool closed: Well, it has reopened and made for a nice “new” spot to enjoy mid way through our trip. Beach is Small: Yes, and there are not as many people at this resort as other Sandals, so there was always a beach chair available or someone (even beside the Butler) who were happy to help with towels and chairs at the pool or beach. One of our party had a food allergy. EVER SINGLE TIME we sat down, the server asked “Any food allergies?” And when we said yes, they immediately gave a menu rundown of what was okay and what to stay away from. And when food for 6 was delivered, they would confirm which of us had the allergy. So professional! Now, for Sherry Ann and Roland. They had carefully studied our pre-arrival preferences (such as pre-order of a birthday cake for my Daughters Birthday), helped us pivot reservation plans when we decided at the last minute to change (again, for 6!), made sure I was never far from a cold water or Red Stripe no matter where we were on property, and suggested some new drinks that were always a treat! Finally, the best example of great service - We planned to go to the Reggae Sumfest music festival in downtown MoBay, which was great. Sherry Ann coordinated with our taxi driver to have lawn chairs in the taxi waiting for us to use when we were picked up! My kids have made up a song about Roland and Sherry Ann after we left that is sung to the tune of Bob Marley’s “No Woman, No Cry” (“No Roland, No Cry. No Sherry Ann, No Cry”). We were laughing so hard on the bus back to the airport. I would be remiss not to mention the so very many more that made our trip great but I’m not great with remembering names - The lady shuttle boat Captain to the Island was as skilled of a boat driver as I have ever seen, the bartender with the bucket hat at the island who poured drinks as if he had 4 arms, the Chef in white coat at the Jerk Shack that shared her secret recipe for the Hell Fire jerk sauce, just to mention a few. Thanks for taking care of my family. We have rebooked and will see you all in December 2026.

This resort is quaint and beautifully maintained. We truly felt like family! Kristoff, Jerome, and Devroy are gems! They were so kind, welcoming, and made sure we were beyond comfortable and happy. I’ve never had a better all inclusive experience. We rebooked while on site, and it is 100% due to the service and love shown to us by Kristoff, Jerome, and Devroy!

I just want to give a huge thank you to everyone at Sandals Royal Caribbean Resort in Montego Bay, Jamaica. My husband and I got married there on June 20th, right on the beach. It was truly unforgettable. From the moment we arrived on June 16, we were welcomed with warm smiles and amazing energy. It instantly felt like paradise. Our wedding coordinators, Shadeen and Sherica, were absolutely incredible. They are patient, detailed, and attentive. They made sure everything was in place so we could actually relax and enjoy every moment of our big day. And we did! From the beautiful ceremony to the delicious food, top service, and fun entertainment, it was everything we dreamed of and more. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how gorgeous the resort was. It had this peaceful vibe we all needed. We chose the Windsor Beachfront Club Room with a balcony and a tranquility soaking tub. It was an amazing view. I have two recommendations regarding the room. Our AC was a wall unit. It dripped water every day, so we placed a towel under it to prevent us from slipping and falling. My other recommendation is to create a sliding door for the showers. Our floor got wet each time we showered. We placed multiple towels on the floor to prevent us from falling. One of our favorite memories is the sunset dinners by the water. SPICES is the best restaurant with great food and service. We’re already counting down the days until we come back to celebrate our first anniversary.
