"Overpriced and needs refinement to compete with other Caribbean 5 star resorts"

6.0

Beach - 4/5 - great, water is clear. Seems to be nicer at key West/Italian village end with less rocks in the water and less sea weed vs treasure beach and carribean end. Activities - 3/5 - General ones in the evening are done well however with the kids activities during the day for sports and other types of activities it was not as well organized as other AI resorts. There were activities at the kids and teen club advertised and when our kids went to participate very few kids were there. These aren't communicated in the app and so it seems people may not be aware. Other resorts do a better job by also making announcements at the pool and encouraging kids to participate. Accomodations and facilities 2/5- Caribbean rooms are very dated and well worn. For what we paid per night these are a major disappointment. We have paid less and got 5 star modern rooms. These had damage and very dated looks, with musky smell. Rooms are way over priced and this part of the resort is in need of significant remodel. Beyond the rooms, the Caribbean pools all need a remodel, showing a lot of wear, missing tiles and other damage. Even Italian village pool shows significant wear. The good news is you can use nicer pools at Treasure still. Food - 3.5/5 -The restaurant food was decent. We had good steak at Pintos and butches. Neptunes also had good fish. There is some refinement needed for this resorts price point - food came out cold a number of times (Neptunes and Schooners). The buffets should have more cook to order station options to improve quality as well. Service - 3/5 - Restaurant service was typically slow. Hibachi we sat waiting for 30 mins for the chef to show and they didn't do any of the typical hibachi experiences we have seen at other resorts and restaurants. Generally service was slow at most restaurants vs other resorts we have been to as well. Service at the front desk was hit or miss too. We had issues with the Internet in our room and we were told it would be addressed that night or by next morning and still not resolved next evening and had to followup again. Eventually got resolved. Value - 2/5 - We expected a lot more after staying at places like Grand Moon Palace (Mexico), Hyatt Ziva (Punta Cana), and Hotel Xcaret (Mexico). All these places excelled in other areas over beaches, like beaches, pool, room quality, or activities and cost similar or less per night. Obviously you don't get a beach with as clear water as Turks but we personally didn't think the beach at Turks was enough to make up for the short falls at this resort.

"Beaches Turks & Caicos — $23,000 Later, I Will Never Return"

4.0

Let me start with genuine positives: the location is stunning, some of the staff are wonderfully warm and attentive, and my 12-year-old son had a great time with the amenities and activities available for kids. If you’re measuring success purely by whether your child is entertained, Beaches delivers on that front. Those are real credits and I won’t dismiss them. I also want to be clear about who we are as travelers: we are easygoing, go-with-the-flow people. We don’t nitpick. We don’t look for problems on vacation. We actively try to enjoy ourselves and let things roll off our backs. I say that so you understand — when people like us are writing a two-star review, something went genuinely, seriously wrong. Room Promises Mean Nothing — And I Have the Ticket Numbers to Prove It I didn’t just show up hoping for adjoining rooms. I addressed this issue nine months before our arrival. I have the ticket numbers to prove it. Every confirmation. Every follow-up. Documented. The very first thing we did upon arriving — before we even settled in — was raise this issue. We were told immediately that there were no adjoining rooms available in our “price point.” Our price point. At $23,000. That response was so condescending and so tone-deaf that it became a running joke between my family for the rest of the trip. We laughed because the alternative was far worse. And when I followed up with customer service after returning home? Complete silence. Not a single reply. Not an email. Not a call. Nothing. The Food Is a Serious Problem — And It Cost Us an Extra $1,200 For an all-inclusive, the food quality is shockingly poor. We left the resort three separate times over 10 nights just to get a decent meal — and the food off property wasn’t just better, it was significantly better in every way. Between those meals we shouldn’t have needed to buy, we spent an additional $1,200 out of pocket on top of our $23,000 booking. When you’re paying that much for an all-inclusive and spending hundreds more just to eat adequately, the entire value proposition of this resort collapses completely. Inconsistent Service — Including Staff Who Were Downright Mean The staff is a deeply mixed bag. A handful were outstanding — genuinely some of the friendliest resort employees I’ve encountered anywhere. But far too many were disengaged and indifferent, and some were downright mean. Not rushed, not having a bad day — mean. That is not acceptable at any price point, let alone this one. Beaches should seriously consider moving to a tipping model. Nothing incentivizes attentive, motivated service like allowing guests to reward those who earn it. The current flat model appears to breed complacency at best and outright hostility at worst. The Departure “Experience” Says It All If you needed any final confirmation that Beaches views its guests as cattle rather than people, look no further than checkout. They herd you into a departure center, pack you in, and — I wish I were making this up — have you sing a song. It’s patronizing, bizarre, and puts an infantilizing bow on what should have been a premium vacation. It felt less like a fond farewell and more like crowd control with a jingle. Final Word I have traveled extensively and stayed at many luxury resorts around the world. My son had a wonderful time — and that matters. But I will not return to Beaches. Ever. That is not frustration talking — it is a considered decision made by two easygoing people who gave this resort every benefit of the doubt and were failed at nearly every turn. We paid $23,000 for an all-inclusive and spent an additional $1,200 eating off property just to have decent meals. Do the math. For that money, the adults in your party deserve far better. Go elsewhere — or send your kids alone.

"Great return trip to Beaches"

10.0

Our family visited beaches Turks and Caicos for spring break. Such a fun trip and the resort has really stepped it up in terms of food and some extra fun activities. We were able to get reservations at Butch’s steakhouse. The service was perfect. Kaylando was our server and he was great- so friendly and professional and courses timed just right. Highly recommend!

"Third Time Was Not the Charm"

8.0

My wife, daughter, eight-year old granddaughter and I recently returned from our third trip to Beaches (our first was in late 2022, our second in mid-2024). We enjoyed ourselves, and there are certainly good things to say about the resort, but overall I feel that a sense of diminishing returns is setting in. Perhaps if this had been our first trip I would rate it 5 stars, but given that it was our third, I would call it 3.5, rounded up to 4. As I said, there are good things about the resort, most notably the very recent opening of a new village, Treasure Beach. In terms of physical attractiveness this is, even by the very high bar set by the rest of the resort (I am always amazed at how beautiful the setting is here), a gorgeous addition to the property, beautifully landscaped with a lovely pool. There is also a nice movie theatre with buttered popcorn. The new village also brings with it two major new restaurants: Butch’s Chop House and Pinta. Butch’s is a steakhouse that is a major part of the Sandals brand; this is the first one to appear at a Beaches. We all were very eager to try it out but when we did I found the experience underwhelming, perhaps because it was overhyped. My filet mignon was not bad but it wasn’t the stellar experience I expected it to be; I actually enjoyed the steak I got at Schooner’s with my steak-and-egg breakfast more. Butch’s is also open for breakfast, but this, too, was disappointing: my wife ordered a lobster omelet, for example, and got a shrimp one; she was told that lobster wasn’t in season anymore, so they just substituted shrimp. Why not just tell her that lobster wasn’t available and ask her what she wanted instead? Pinta, on the other hand, was better than I (or anybody in my family) was expecting. From the description, we thought it would be a food court, but instead it turned out to be (for lunch and dinner) a waiter-service restaurant where the menu was divided into multiple sections (Caribbean, Italian, Asian, Mexican) and you could order from each category (the waitress said she recommended one or two items per person). I had scrumptious plantains from the Caribbean section, good potstickers from the Asian, delicious elotes (seasoned corn on the cob) and carne asada from the Mexican, and tasty spaghetti and meatballs and garlic bread from the Italian. There is a dessert buffet for lunch and dinner that chocolate lovers will enjoy. We wound up eating there twice for dinner, once for lunch and once for breakfast. For breakfast, there are two buffets: a traditional American one and a multiple-country one with interesting items like scrambled egg and bacon bao. Another nice thing about the resort is the friendliness of the staff. It seems that every person we encountered greeted us cheerfully and always had a smile. I never met a single staff member who gave me the impression that he or she would rather be somewhere else. Unfortunately, “friendly” does not necessarily translate into “efficient”. On numerous occasions things did not get done. The honey that my daughter was told would be delivered to her room for her daughter, who developed a cough while there, never showed up; she had to go out and get some cough medicine on her own. Routine meal items (steak sauce or drink refills, for example) were requested and never arrived. When things did get done, they sometimes took forever. We ordered burgers at Bobby Dee’s, for example, and I was seriously wondering whether they would arrive in my lifetime. In addition to slowness, there were, for the first time since we have been coming to Beaches, several times when the resort was out of things. My granddaughter likes the “chocolate monkey” drink (chocolate syrup, milk, and a banana, blended together to form a shake) and on one occasion was told that she couldn’t get one because they were out of chocolate, and on another was told they were out of bananas. Seriously, how does a Caribbean beach resort run out of bananas? Also on the first day of our visit I was told they were out of Diet Cokes, so had to drink a regular one instead. I also found myself annoyed at the frequent inability to get beach chairs. This resort has an obsession with butlers, who go out and reserve chairs (that are, it seems, often unused throughout the day). It is pretty frustrating to see a ton of unused chairs, all marked with towels, when you need one. This problem seemed particularly acute at the Italian Village pool, but was beginning to infect the Treasure Beach pool at the end of our stay. Perhaps my biggest complaint about this trip, however, was the poor quality of basic internet service in the rooms. Given the very high prices Beaches charges (our room fees were much increased over what we paid in 2024), you’d think that they could provide internet service that was reliable, but that turned out not to be the case. In our room, our ability to access the internet even depended on what area of the room we were trying from. There is “enhanced internet”, for a fee, and I was wondering whether this was a subtle attempt to get people to pay for that. There are more than 20 restaurants on site, which is good; some (like Bayside, Reflections, and Guiseppe’s) are buffet for three meals a day, others are off-the-menu. You can’t expect really gourmet food at an all-inclusive, and you won’t get it here, but the food was generally pretty good. For lunch and dinner we preferred off-the-menu places to buffets, but we did find the buffet at Reflections to be quite satisfactory for breakfast. Schooner’s does an excellent off-the-menu breakfast; the ambiance at Sky is nice but I thought the breakfast was only so-so. For lunch, my favorite places were Neptune’s, Pinta and Dino’s, which has not only good pizza but also sandwiches and burgers. I didn’t get a chance to do the Jerk Truck this time, but I seem to recall enjoying it on a previous visit. The smashburger at Bobby Dee’s wasn’t quite as good as I remembered it from previous visits, but the hot fudge sundae remains delicious (and you don’t have to wait for that). For dinner, I enjoyed the ribs at Arizona’s (there is also a good chocolate mousse cake for dessert, which you can get in a non-spicy version upon request), and as previously mentioned we all enjoyed Pinta a lot. Cricketer’s is a good place for lunch or dinner (and gets a rave review from our granddaughter, who swears by their chicken nuggets; they are good throughout the resort but they seem to be especially good here). So, bottom line: the four of us had a good time and we’re certainly not sorry we went, but, especially at current prices, I’m not in any great hurry to visit Beaches in the near future.

"Friendly, Clean, Mid Food"

8.0

First off, the employees were lovely. Always friendly and willing to help. Treasure Beach is beautiful and new. The weather didn’t cooperate for 2 days so we got a slow start but once the sun came out, the vibe was great. The food leaves a lot to be desired- we checked with concierge right when we arrived and were only able to get one 8:15 reservation for dinner. Unless you show up at opening time, you could easily be waiting an hour plus at the restaurants. I suggest you show up right when a restaurant opens and put your name on the list. Room service was nice but the order wasn’t always accurate. We slowly figured out the best way to find snacks and meals but it would be great to have a better understanding of how to work the system. No one wants to spend hours a day waiting to be seated for a meal, especially on vacation. Definitely a great spot for young families but keep low expectations on food. Highly recommend SkyPass Caribbean when departing out of Turks and Caicos- they walked us straight through security, we found seats upstairs at the airport and didn’t get caught up in the chaos.

"Very fun family resort!"

8.0

Four 1/2 stars. I had a really nice mommy daughter trip (ages 8 and 10). Stayed in a concierge King room in Key West. Room was very dated and very tight and I would not recommend you try to fit 3 - the pullout was a joke. That said we spent no time in the room. All inclusive, regardless of how nice it’s supposed to be, will have significant drawbacks. Restaurants are really, really slow. Even waits to sit down for the buffet, so plan ahead. Food was passable, with our best meal probably at Sky for breakfast, Mario’s for breakfast buffet, and the sushi place for dinner. Girls tried out the kids club and they liked it for short periods. Beach and grounds are absolutely gorgeous and well-maintained. Waterpark was really fun and we spent a few hours there each day. Even though it was a crowded holiday week the waits for the slides weren’t too bad. The biggest issue we had was finding towels. People holding chairs is a problem at lots of resorts, but the lack of towels was absolutely baffling to me. I would have to walk around to the different villages on the hunt for towels. Given the size of this resort, it was a great inconvenience. Overall it’s a really fun place that has something for everyone. I’d recommend for groups of families or a family reunion type of event.

"Great staff and many activities for kids"

10.0

The most beautiful family accommodating resort we have ever been to. The food was great, staff was always happy and smiling, and it seemed like there was always something to do. We did the snorkel tour and iguana island which was ok but didn’t realize there was a good place to snorkel if you walked down the beach a little ways. The beds did seem a little small and not the most comfortable in the French village that we stayed in but that would be my only negative throughout the whole trip. Hope to come back again!!

"Expected more from Beaches"

6.0

Location Turks & Caicos is obviously a beautiful island. The water and beaches are incredible. Beaches resort is about 20 minutes away from the airport, set on one of these beautiful beaches. Atmosphere The resort is quite large. It takes a good 10-15 minutes to walk it from end-to-end. Since it's a family resort, expect lots of kids but due to the sheer size you never feel crowded. Rooms We did a split stay due to room availability. Our first half were in the new Treasure Beach section. This section is gorgeous. Rooms are designed and built for modern travelers. Plenty of charging ports, sleek glass showers, toilets is a separate stalls, double sinks, etc... The Treasure Beach section is also currently the most popular attracting many guests from other areas to spend the day which crowds this section more than others. The second half of our stay was in a Caribbean Village Honeymoon Deluxe room. This is by far the worst way to describe this room. Nothing was Deluxe, nor honeymoon-ish. It was simply awful. I've stayed in Comfort Inn's nicer than this. The entire room is tiled with large grout lines. All of the grout way stained in a rainbow of colors. The bottom third of the bathroom door was swollen with moisture/mold. The shower curtain rod was in such bad shape (pulled out) that you couldn't keep the water in the tub while showering. Mold everywhere in the bathroom. Corners, tub, walls, shower curtain. The obviously made the whole room smell. The AC unit had an extremely loud fan that didn't really cool, so it ran (like a jet engine) 24/7. The pillows were older than I am. It was sold on their website as having beer/wine in the fridge, none of which were there. Just plain bad. I requested a room change/upgrade (willing to pay more) but was consistently shut down by their Director of Customer Service due to a sold-out resort with no availability. This room was so bad, we cut our stay short and left the property to go stay somewhere else. Upon leaving (taxi waiting), the manager offers a new room to get us to stay. This after being told there was no availability 5 times by their Director. We still left. Food For an all-inclusive the food is adequate. Since most restaurants are sit-down, a-la-carte, it gives it a nice atmosphere but the food is just a step above buffet food. The food service staff are mostly mediocre. They don't want to be there and it shows. Ask for a table at a nearly empty restaurant (20-30 empty tables), and they will make you wait a minimum of 10 minutes while they look for a table. Happened three times. And it has to be noted the Guissepe's in the French Village is quite possible the worst food imaginable. It's supposed to be an Italian buffet. There's a total of five dishes, one of which is curried goat for some reason. The pizza at this location is of the frozen soggy variety, even though other restaurants on site offer decent pizza. Entertainment Travelling with two teenagers, Beaches offers decent entertainment. The nights typically had something that kept us busy for a couple hours.
