⭐️ Review: Beaches Turks & Caicos – Beautiful Location, Disappointing Experience
Pros:
Beaches Turks & Caicos sits on a breathtaking stretch of Grace Bay. The beach is spectacular, the water is crystal-clear, and the overall setting is truly stunning. There were plenty of beach chairs available each day, which made settling in easy.
Cons:
While chairs were abundant, they were placed so close together that you’re essentially on top of your neighbors no matter where you sit. For a resort at this price point, the lack of personal space on the beach was a letdown.

Food:
Overall, the food ranged from mediocre to genuinely disappointing. We spent $400 on the private “Romantic Dinner on the Beach,” and calling the food underwhelming would be an understatement. We both ordered the surf and turf: the steak arrived burnt and dry, and the lobster tails were the smallest I’ve ever seen—questionably even lobster—and seriously undercooked with no seasoning. On top of that, the food was cold when served.
The one bright spot was our server, Cesar, who went out of his way to make the evening feel special despite the poor quality of the meal. The setting itself was gorgeous—one of the most beautiful beachfront dinner setups we’ve experienced—but the food completely diminished the experience.
Across the resort, the dining options seemed geared more toward children than adults. The “luxury” or fine-dining venues fell short, with dishes that were poorly cooked and not well prepared.
There were a few enjoyable exceptions:
• The food trucks were a hit with the kids. The mac & cheese and jerk chicken were genuinely good, and IPA fans will appreciate the bar truck next to the jerk chicken stand.
• The pizzas across the resort were consistently good—similar to what we’ve had at other Sandals properties.
• Cricketer’s Pub was solid as always, great for late-night buffalo wings and drinks.
• Kimonos was fun thanks to our enthusiastic chef who made the experience lively. The food itself was just okay, but the show made it enjoyable.

Rooms:
The room was one of the most disappointing aspects of our stay. It was noticeably dated, and the floors felt dirty. There was an adjoining door to the next room with about a two-inch gap underneath, which meant we could hear everything happening next door—conversations, television, crying children, all of it. Every night, a screaming baby woke us up, and it genuinely felt like the child was in the room with us because the walls were so thin. The first few nights, the neighboring guests had their TV blasting infomercials until midnight, making it even harder to rest.
The water pressure in the shower was nearly nonexistent, which made showering unpleasant—especially in a cold, air-conditioned room where you couldn’t even warm up under the water because there simply wasn’t enough pressure. For a high-end resort, this was a major flaw.
⸻
Service:
Service was hit or miss. Our room was cleaned daily and kept stocked, so no complaints there. However, in several restaurants, staff seemed disinterested in moving with any sense of urgency. Clearing tables, seating guests, and general attentiveness all felt slow. I suspect this may be linked to Sandals’ no-tipping policy—a mixed blessing that sometimes leads to inconsistent service.
Unfortunately, this wasn’t an isolated experience. This is our second negative stay with the Sandals brand—the prior one being in Barbados in December, where we had a butler suite yet never saw our butlers the entire week. To make matters worse, it took nearly two hours just to check in, while the friends we traveled with (in a concierge-level room) checked in, dropped off their bags, and came back to find us still waiting. No greeting drink, no cool towel—nothing. That experience already had us questioning the brand.
At Beaches Turks & Caicos, I voiced concerns to management and asked for a follow-up message in our room, which never came. I ultimately had to return to the front desk myself the next day to confirm we were leaving a day early. For the amount of money spent, the lack of service recovery—no gesture, no attempt to offset the poor dinner, not even comping the high-speed internet we purchased to watch a football game—was disappointing. Even with a $150 spa credit, we still spent nearly $100 out of pocket after fees, and they attempted to upsell us a $59 bath treatment.

Overall Impression:
The grounds are beautiful and lush—consistent with Sandals’ aesthetic—and the Grace Bay location is genuinely world-class. But between the mediocre food, outdated room, constant noise, weak water pressure, inconsistent service, and lack of any meaningful service recovery, the experience fell far below expectations.
After 15 years of being loyal Sandals customers, it feels like the quality has declined significantly. Sadly, I’m not sure we’ll return.
