Campanile Hotel Glasgow - SECC

outside of property has not been cleaned, Cigarette butts outside front entrance never been cleaned. Side of property weeds from building structure never maintained It is the worst place I have ever stayed in my years of travelling. As it is near the convention centre I expected much more. They also never had any cups for drinking water I had to ask twice and they gave me a glass from the bar. Also I asked them twice for shower gel. They gave me a packet to install my self. Service in the restaurant was awful sat for 15 mins before I asked someone if there is anyone serving and I was the only one in the restaurant! This place needs a managerial shakeup.

Room was not made up for 3. Moved to a new room and after unpacking noticed it was very dirty, hairs everywhere, cobwebs and dusty lampshades and skirtings. Got a free drink while they cleaned away the clumps of hairs from behind the tv. Not much better.

This was the 2nd time I'd stopped there, great service room clean and comfy, the only thing for me is the windows they may as well not be there, as I could hear what people were talking about outside, if they just updated the windows then this would be a great place to stay

WIFI is excellent. Staff are lovely. I didn’t want to checkout today. I can’t wait to stay again.

Check in was good. The room was bare and lacking the basics like a towel rail... the toilet roll holder was on the otherside of the bathroom. There was no hand towel. Breaksfast was never the same and they always ran out of something ot never even had on offer. One morning was pure chaos. I understand there was alot of guests but the hotel seemed very unprepared of us as people couldnt get seated even in the bar part as an over flow area where they were sitting to wait anyway for a table. Food and drink was very slow being refielled, so peple sat for brekfast couldnt even have brekfast and leave as there was nothing to have ! Tables were not cleared and staff seemed all over the place. Guests would have been better themselves to organise themselves. Food was told it was coming but never even appeared. We had one meal there and with under 10 people in the restaurant, service was still slow and got mixed up ! Food was good when we did get it Location ogmf the hotel was handy for the hydro but apart from that never again

We chose this property because of the proximity to the ovo hydro. The staff were very good although they were short staffed even though the hotel was full booked. Room was ok but a lot of the lights were not working. Breakfast good value for money.

Holes in curtains stained seat in room dirty cups no hand towels dodgy toilet seat which kept slipping bloodstained drapes no fresh food at 10.10 when breakfast finished at 11 no cutlery no orange juice everyone in dining room complaining about the same thing, will never return

Excellent as the hotel was only a short walk to the venue.

I loved almost everything about my stay at the hotel except the cleaning aspect. I spent 5 days there and not a single day did a cleaner come around to clean the room. which was very disappointing but overall , my stay was very good of which I would have said excellent but for the cleaning bit.

It’s been a few years since I last stayed at this hotel and it is clear that time has taken its toll. Enthused by the location to the Hydro I booked this hotel expecting better. The public areas (check in, bar and restaurant areas) are decent and well presented. My room (209) was clean enough but very cold. A cold draft coming in through the window could not be countered by a noisy and ineffective AC unit. In addition, the window offered little protection from the traffic noise outside. Unfortunately the bar could not deliver draft beer because the cooler(s) was/were broken. Bottled beers were being sold at the same price as a pint of beer - £5.50. The location of the Camponile next to the Hydro/SECC has always been a huge selling point for this hotel. I guess it still is. However, there are now many other hotels in the vicinity that offer significantly better and modern facilities. All hotels in this area carry a premium due to their location especially when concerts are on at the venue(s) nearby. Nothing negative to say about the staff, check in was friendly and the bar staff were apologetic about the draft beer situation. Altogether they were very pleasant.
