"Stunning beach, Sandals staff are incredibly friendly, gracious, and helpful!"

10.0

We’re sadly on our flight home from the Sandals Grande St. Lucian. This was our first time to stay at a Sandal’s property and we much enjoyed being there with another couple. The trip from the airport to the resort is long and winding so we pre-booked the Fun to See boat to the resort to start our vacay. It was a smaller boat with a fun crowd, free-flowing Piton beer, snacks, and an awesome crew with pumping tunes and info on what we were seeing along the way. Arrival at the resort started with a welcome song from the Sandal’s welcoming team and then our butler escorted us to check in and then straight to our room. We had a couple of room hiccups on night one with our AC not cooling and the safe not working but Nathan from maintenance arrived quickly and fixed both issues promptly. Our butler suite was large and well appointed with two full baths, one with a soaking tub and both with large showers, a living room, and a large balcony with bed swing, lounging chaise for two, and chairs. We received exceptional service from our butlers Michelle, Jackie, and Giselle and not only appreciated how well they truly pampered us but also truly enjoyed getting to know them each and hearing about why they work at Sandals. These ladies acted as a super-synchronized team, communicating daily what we liked and was meaningful to us, and thinking ahead about what we may need. We’d highly recommend booking a butler-level room as, in addition to them mastering our dining reservations, even when changes were needed, they also reserved the same, prime-location chairs at the beach or the pool for us everyday, providing us an ice chest stocked with cold drinks, and checking on us throughout the day. They even brought us lunch so that we could dine at our beach chairs and had a light snack each afternoon in our room as we cleaned up for dinner. Overall, the resort food was good but not great. Our dinner at Toscanini’s was delicious, dinner at Soy was spectacular, but we wouldn’t recommend Gordon’s except for the beautiful sunset view. When we compare the resort food against other all-inclusives or cruises we’ve done, we felt the food was fine but not outstanding. With that said, we certainly didn’t go hungry! There’s plenty of activities and quite fun entertainment so you can truly do as much or as little as you prefer. Go to the Country show!! The guy that sings all of the country songs is excellent and we danced the night away. The Burlesque show was great and you could tell that the Entertainment team works hard to serve their guests. The fitness center was filled with truly anything you’d need to keep up your fitness routine. We didn’t do any excursions as most of them required significant travel to and fro and we didn’t want to give up our precious beach time as their beach is truly stunning with soft, walkable sand and warm water. We thoroughly enjoyed our vacay and talked about doing Sandals again sometime with our friends. Our trip ended with a farewell song from the team and a delightful Sandal’s shuttle drive back to the airport. Larry, our driver, educated us in this beautiful island all the way back to the airport, mastering the twisted roads while checking on guests regularly who have motion sickness. Larry truly ended our Sandal’s Grande St. Lucian experience with a five-star tour back to the airport. Thank you Sandal’s Grande St. Lucian team, Michelle, Jackie, and Giselle for a truly magical vacation!

"Sandals Grande St Lucian"

8.0

Beautiful location with great beaches. Calm and clear water. Negative is the hour and half drive to airport and long distance to excursions. Appreciated the private Sandals lounge at the airport. Beautiful setting and landscaping. Everything was clean. Very relaxing and calm. Rooms were spacious and very nice decor. Everyone was so nice and helpful. Felt pampered even without the butler service. Really enjoyed the day activities and the nightly entertainment. Overall the food was delicious. Appreciated the wide variety of cuisine. Well worth the money spent.

"An excellent resort that could be improved"

8.0

The resort is in a beautiful, breathtaking location. The landscaping, rooms, restaurants, etc.. were all top shelf. Many different activities are available whether you're into golfing, water sports or simply relaxing. The staff were all excellent. Many of the meals were amazing. I would have given it a 5 star review except for some major annoyances: A loudspeaker at the main pool that was overly loud and was in use most of the afternoon. This drove us far, far away. Although they publish strict rules about not reserving lounge chairs, nonetheless, guests would throw their towel and a book on a chair in the early a.m. and not show up for many hours. Their rule was never enforced. Sandals offers a variety of top shelf liquors but only serves the very cheapest wine by the glass, unless, of course, you're willing to buy a bottle (at typical restaurant pricing). Not ideal where only one person is a wine drinker and you're expecting a first class, all inclusive experience. The drive to and from the airport is long (nearly two hours) and tiresome. Although we didn't come to watch television, the channel selection was extremely limited. The complaints might sound petty, but they spoiled what could have been a perfect vacation.

"Had an amazing Time - shout out to entertainment staff and bartenders"

10.0

I want to give a wonderful shout out to Cardious, Leanna, Neville, Lemonade, Mauka, and the rest of the entertainment staff! Also a shout out to Claudia the bartender! They were so funny and friendly and gave me a wooden turtle that I have been wanting for my prize for winning a game! My husband and I had a wonderful time and I loved the entertainment and activities. These staff members are so special and full of life! I will miss seeing them !

"Review of Sandals St. Lucia Grande Resort"

6.0

5 couples went to Sandals St Lucia Grande. My thoughts are the quality of the food and service has gone down since 2019 (our previous trip). The food was really unremarkable except for the Italian & Soy Restaurant. There are not enough rest rooms close by the pools. Breakfast at the Bay was poor. At the Italian restaurant the sit down breakfast was good. The people at the buffet breakfast are not as nice as they use to be. I think it would kill the chefs (both of them) if they actually smiled. The loyalty desk was extremely unpleasant. My problem with the loyalty desk is that one of my adult children wanted to book but was so busy there that he couldn't find the time and when he left I told him I would book it for him since he was a guest there. I guess they have a rule saying with you don't book before you leave then you don't get the discount. I feel this is wrong since he was there in the first place. It would be different if he was never a guest. I didn't book either because it seems they don't care to work with the guests and solve that problem. Now mind you - we have been going there for 25+years. They use to respect the returning guest but at St. Lucia Sandals Grande I think they forgot how to treat their guests. A couple of good things too. The employee (named Theresa) who cleaned our rooms was great. She was kind, caring and an excellent employee. The second person (I wish I could remember his name) but it was the night manager. He was extremely helpful. My husband fell in the bathroom and hurt himself and was ill and the night manager did everything he could to help my husband off the floor and take him to the nurses station. I thank him to this day for all he did. Now mind you we arrived at 11:00 pm and my husband fell at 12:00 a.m. only one hour there. They did call every day to see if my husband was doing ok which he was a little better each day and in our 5 th day there he was able to go out and enjoy the resort. Now at the nurses station she help my husband and bandage his arm which was bleeding. She thought she should call the doctor so we agreed cause we were not sure so we took her at her word that he needed a doctor. The doctor came and examined my husband (did exactly the same as the nurse) and I heard her say to the nurse that it was not an emergency .....(cost was $395) for the nurse, doctor and paperwork. It was after midnight. People please remember to get medical insurance because most health insurance does not include outside the USA especially Medicare.

"Enjoyed our stay at Sandals Grande St Lucian"

8.0

We recently enjoyed two weeks at Sandals Grande St Lucian. The resort is great, with many varied good dining options and excellent entertainment (the fire and water show alone made the trip worthwhile). Any accommodation glitches were quickly addressed by the staff and the management team went out of their way to ensure we were satisfied. One note of caution: if peace and quiet is important to you avoid the St Lucia Independence Day weekend in late February as it gets very noisy with motorcycle groups from the island and neighbouring ones racing up and down the nearest road all day. While it is not difficult to stay clear of the "party central" main pool you can't excape the near-constant motorycle noise over that weekend. Any other time should not be a problem.

"Our first all-inclusive holiday exceeded expectations!"

10.0

After a year of reading reviews on the Grande here’s my take on Sandals. Take the helicopter transfer one way & a private transfer back to the airport. The helicopter doesn’t save you a lot of time but take the additional cost as an excursion as it shortens the 2 hour transfer time. We asked ahead (& got) a newly refurbished room- we couldn’t have been happier with the allocated room. We paid for a Club Beachview Room and in our opinion it was well worth it. We had a fantastic view from our balcony & were minutes from the quiet pool & the beach. The bed was super comfortable & and American Kingsize so huge. Air conditioning was great & there was also a ceiling fan. Housekeeping was promptly done (by Rebecca) every day. The bedside lights had 2 charging points each & all plug sockets were UK compatible. Mini bar well stocked & once we gave our preference to Club Sandals it was restocked on a daily basis with water, beer & tonic water or your preferred mixers. Room was a big tick- we were more than pleased. Club levels rooms are worth it-you can access Club Sandals lounge 24/7 for additional alcoholic drinks, water, snacks, towels. It’s manned 8am-10pm so you can book restaurants, trips etc. You can order room service on Club FoC and we used this several times. Deliveries were efficient & trays promptly cleared from hallways. Butlers-we didn’t have one but unless you are incapable of walking for a drink, getting a sunbed or getting your own lunch I just don’t see that you need one. Food-in general better than we expected. The restaurants that you need to book were good. Best food IMO was in Bombay, closely followed by Gordon’s. However over the sea tables at Gordon’s won location wise. Service was of a very good standard at these two restaurants, probably as a smaller number of guests to serve. Bayside did a very good breakfast & lunch buffet with plenty of choice & a lunchtime hot food menu that changed daily. Liked the idea you could get tea/coffee and a cookie any hour of the day from Bayside. Liked Dino’s pizzas & crepes & ice cream from next door. All available as takeaways if required. Barefoot by the Beach was literally on the beach. I wished the menu could have changed in the 2 weeks we were there! Got the feeling it never changed. Service was variable & when it was slow it was painful. In the end we started taking our own drinks with us so we weren’t just left at the table. Maybe more lighting needed as some tables extremely dark. Pools-we by default ended up at the ‘quiet pool’ on the beach as the entertainment at the main pool started at 11am every day. The entertainment team need to turn the volume down on the microphone down as I didn’t go to the Caribbean to hear a trivia quiz or listed to someone counting to 100 as people did arm curls in the strong man competition. The ‘entertainment’ therefore became very annoying and was the main topic of conversation at the ‘quiet’ pool. Maybe limit the time the entertainment goes on? Beach-a good beach to walk down, water very clear & water hammocks were fun. Loads of sun beds available. Cabanas ($130/day) aren’t essential and are one row behind the free sun beds. Take plenty of SPF30 with you as $30 in gift shop. Trips-book Israel King Water Taxi for a private Charter-pickup/drop off from the dock. You choose what you want to do but we went down to The Pitons, Sugar Beach, saw dolphins & turtles & snorkelled by Jade Mountain. Well worth it but book before you fly. Stick to trips by sea as the roads can get very congested and the 2 hour car transfer allows you to see enough of the interior of the island. Sandals do a great deal if you book again before you depart so we are going back next year. Our only bug bear was the noise! Even Diamond members were complaining about the noise so really Sandals Management should really take note.

"Great Resort .. Great People .. Beautiful Island"

10.0

My wife and I stayed at the Grande St.Lucian and simply loved it. Beautiful beach, great room, excellent food and they were very gluten free aware as well. Only complaint would be the time it takes to get to the resort from the airport, but it was definitely worth the long drive. Out seasoned butlers (Bailey, Kenwin, and Zanius) treated us so very well in every respect. We also need to call out some other staff members for their amazing service as well. - Dabriel - pool bartender - Amanda - - Nicketta - server @ Italian restaurant - Otis - Bombay bartender - Anaiah - lovely curator of all the food bombay - Simeon -- amazing bartender Highly recommend this resort and venue.

"Best staff"

10.0

We visited this resort 2/7-2/14 and we had a wonderful time. We had a very fun photoshoot with Delon, his attention to detailed is amazing. The whole photography department is very talented. Neville did a great job giving the tour of the resort. His personally is incredible and he made us feel right at home through out our stay. Otis, the bartender by the Bombay restaurant took excellent care of us. He made the BEST dirty martini I’ve ever had. Lucie was also a very talented bartender! I enjoyed trying different drinks she made. Alex, who I believe works in the grounds was very kind and answered a lot of questions I had about St Lucia. I highly recommend this resort to any couples that are looking for a romantic getaway. The housekeeping team did a wonderful job. We noticed they stocked up us daily with our favorite drinks and waters for the day. All the staff was truly welcoming. The only two negative comments I have is first, the wait time at Toscanini. There was only a few other tables taken that had already been served when we got there but we waited a long time for our food (we had no food restrictions or allergies). By the time our food came, it was more on the colder side. Therefore we avoided coming here for the rest of the trip. Second, we waited for an hour at the pizzeria. Other couples that got there after us received their food. When I inquired about our order, no one knew if it was ordered. Eventually they found that our pizza was in the counter and by the time we got it, it was lukewarm. I believe this problem can be avoided if one person is assigned per party, as we always had a different person either take our order, bring our food, etc through out our dining experience. Overall, the experience was great! I would recommend this resort. There were many activities that we enjoyed daily like sailing and water skiing daily. I love going to Josephine’s! Their banana ice cream is delicious.
