Mediocre. Not luxury. Overpriced on the Chase sapphire reserve card and Amex platinum benefits. No upgrade given Loud Ac that kept me up at night. Found bugs in my room

This hotel was a truly marvelous experience that I will never forget. I traveled with 4 friends (3 rooms) and we were all blown away by Pendry. First of all, the building itself is likely the most beautiful Art Deco gem I think I've ever had the pleasure of laying eyes on. They have preserved the original 1929 *PEAK* Art Deco lobby, added respectful updates in the reception and lounge areas, and created a gorgeous (and publicly accessible) modern bar/resto that feels chic and ambient. On the top floor, there is a publicly accessible rooftop bar which is loaded with a food and drink menu unique from the lobby bistro, offering a sun-drenched selection of tasty treats and thoughtfully curated drink pairings. Attached to the hotel but, yet again, publicly accessible, is a culturally faithful French bistro serving three meals per day-- a great place to have a quick coffee, leisurely croque madame, or a happy hour oyster spread. The entire staff is highly competent and efficient. From bell hops to housekeeping, they are clearly experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled. The level of service and attention to detail they provide is something I've never experienced before and doubt I will again. The delightful little things they took the time to add were so surprising and thoughtful! Each of us found enormous joy in the many unanticipated bonuses they provided. We loved the location right downtown on Michigan and had no trouble accessing taxis, public transit, or walking to significant sites nearby.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Pendry! From the moment I arrived, the customer service was exceptional. Every staff member was warm, attentive, and genuinely focused on making my stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms were beautiful, spotless, and thoughtfully designed. I really appreciated all the complimentary amenities as well as the variety of additional items available for purchase that added an extra level of comfort and convenience. It’s clear that this hotel puts a huge emphasis on attention to detail, and it truly shows in every aspect of the experience. I honestly cannot recommend staying at the Pendry enough. This stay completely exceeded my expectations, and I’ll definitely be looking out for more Pendry locations during my future travels!

EXCELLENT Hotel, EXCELLENT Service, EXCELLENT Room, EXCELLENT Location I went with my wife to visit Chicago and celebrate our wedding anniversary. Upon arrival they told us that they would give us an Upgrade as a gift. The suite we were assigned was unique, spacious, modern. They gave us some covered strawberries and a prosecco The hotel is first class. The location is the best to know all the points of tourist interest. The detail of arranging our bed every night and leaving us some chocolates. The infusion in the hotel lobby created that addiction of wanting to stop by, greet the staff and serve you a glass of that refreshing drink

Perfect location a block from riverfront. Room was great and the service was amazing. Will look to stay here again. Was able to walk to most downtown places within 5 min and the weekend house car was there if needed!

Our stay as with all our stays at the Montage Group hotels was fabulous. The Pendry is an iconic building of the Chicago skyline. The interior is understated but with class. The staff was professional, attentive and friendly. We could not ask for a more pleasant stay. It was the perfect place to stay for our Chicago getaway. I would particularly like to point out the exceptional service we received from Muriel Tan at the front desk, Annie the Concierge, and Chris at the front door. Thanks to all of you as well as your fellow colleagues!

The Pendry is one those few hotels that actually delivered on all levels that it promised. I took my wife there for an early birthday getaway. First and foremost, we love Chicago, so that was an easy choice. Where to stay? That's the hard choice. I am happy to say that if you choose the Pendry you will get the following. You will get a wonderful reception from the time you walk in the door until the time you check out. Before I arrived, I had several questions about the room, and certain amenities that could be provided. Not only was Muriel extremely helpful on the phone, but she remembered our conversation when I arrived. Not only did she provide exactly what I had requested, but I didn't even have to ask again about it. It was simply taken care of. Not only that, but Muriel also remembered that we had a matinee show to go to, and had Nike, the house driver, on call for us. Nothing made us feel more important than that. I also don't want to dismiss Nike as just a driver. He made you feel safe, and well taken care of from the time we got in the vehicle, until the time we were dropped off. The simple fact that she knew our schedule, and made it magical. From the moment we walked in, we knew it was going to be something special. The fresh flowers in the lobby and sitting areas smelled amazing. It simply exudes refined and quiet luxury. The hotel location is located right on Michigan avenue, and walking distance to many landmark locations and attractions. It's a little bit of a hike to go north to some of the shopping malls, but that's fine. Of course, if you are looking for food, you don't need to bother leaving the hotel. The dining was top notch. Breakfast was Ventieux was unbelievable. I decided on the hamburger for breakfast (once you eat a burger for breakfast, there is no way back), and was floored. As a retired manager of a restaurant, I know my way around food, and this was perfection. A medium burger arrived cooked medium. Room service the next morning was provided promptly, and very delicious. The eggs benedict shouldn't be missed. Speaking of the room, it was spacious and beautiful. It came well appointed with a large bathroom, and plenty of natural light. The bed was comfortable, and it was spotless to match. No stray hairs or anything. Upon checkout, we received our itemized bill from the hotel, and found nothing was overcharged. I did have a question about a feature credit that we had, and wouldn't you know it, Muriel took the time to send me a more detailed bill that actually cleared everything up to me. How helpful is that? I wasn't brushed off, I wasn't put on the back burner, I was simply helped, and I can't ask for more than that. My wife was extremely happy about the entire trip. She loved feeling like she was the most important person in the lobby each time we walked downstairs. And I don't think it was simply lip service. I truly believe that the people at the Pendry really want you to enjoy your stay. Thank you Muriel, and thank you Nike. As well as the rest of the staff we encountered to make it a perfect weekend for my wife and I.

Lovely hotel but the loudest hotel room I have every stayed in. The windows clearly aren't double glazed and the non-stop sirens throughout the night made it impossible to get rest. I was on the 9th floor. I stay in urban hotels 50% for business travel and have earplugs, white noise, etc. - this was beyond that level of loud.

If you are looking for a "4 star hotel" with high level accommodations and excellent guest service, just stay somewhere else. This hotel is not 4 star. It appears 4 star, as the lobby is gorgeous and the building is historic, but it does not operate as a high level hotel should. Wifi did not work in our room, our guest room phone did not work and was disconnected, food is overpriced, elevators are slow, check-in process was slow and they had so many people waiting in the lobby. If this is booked with fine hotels & resorts through American Express then DEFINITELY avoid - you do not get nearly any of the amenities they say they can/should provide.
