Very convenient for Calais

This is our start and finish hotel - just fab location 30mins from The tunnel and food is great and a good breakfast

Given the age of the hotel in some areas a little bit tried (some would say charm)

Location ,decor great locational stop on the way to Calais

The staff were arrogant, not helpful at all. The meal in Vasco was one of the worst I have ever had in France. The breakfast was poor The mini bar was locked and the key could not be found The staff need training

Good dinner at La Distillerie

No hot eggs (scrambled no fried) provided at breakfast. Couldn't believe the bar had totally run out of gin!

Nice chateau hotel, creaking boards and all. Very comfortable, nice room and bed, clean bathroom, however.... the service in the Robert 2 gastronomic restaurant was nothing short of awful, not due to the sole waitress who didn't stop for the 3 hours we were there, but the lack of staff and service. Food excellent when it arrived. We took the wine pairings, however with our finished entree plates in front of us for 45 minutes before a further 30 mins for the main course the wine pairing with the entree had long been consumed. The room service was poor. We were left without a toilet roll for our last day (we stayed 3 nights), and the upturned wine glasses were not clean, smelled strongly of stale wine! On our arrival the check-in queue was long with long waits - lack of staff. The hotel is showing signs of decline. Hopefully they can turn it around.

Love this hotel fantastic location and really interesting history

The running of the bar was an absolute shambles and really spoilt my visit. This was the 5th time I’ve stayed and could possibly be the last. Not what I expected or experienced before.
