Fabulous location and lovely buildings.

No tea/coffee making facilities in room and no free water to drink. There was nowhere near enough staff and we often had to run around to find someone to serve at the bar. Even when we did find staff most were untrained and had no idea what they were doing. The food at La Vasca restaurant was only OK but the risotto was poor. We have been twice before and the place has really gone downhill. and not cheap. Not worth 4 stars. Sorry as we used to love it here 😪

Absolutely perfect.

I love this place. It is not in any sense luxurious but it is extraordinary to be able to stay in a Mediaeval Chartreuse, where some of the most powerful men in France once lived life at a level that not many other people can have dreamed of. ( possibly the king!) Lots of people want to come here and it is a draw for weddings, Conferences etc. which needs to be factored in. But the staff were very charming and friendly and very human. It was a pleasure to spend time with a couple of them. We have visited three times and it is now very firmly on our map! It is a wonderful space.

Very grand, impressive building. Well located near the motorway but still felt in a quiet location and it was lovely walking around the grounds. There were 2 restaurant options available and the reception staff were really helpful organising room service for us. It was a delicious meal.from La Distillerie restaurant. The room was a good size and very quiet with a courtyard view. We chose the hotel for its closeness to Calais so we could break up our onwards journey and it was a great place where we would stay again.

We had to wait a while to check in and when we ordered drinks, but there was a queue at reception and the staff were doing their best.

Loved the calming feeling of hotel wonderful happy staff . Wish there was another one of the restaurants open as when we arrived the only restaurant open had no reservation until late . But fantastic stay

A beautiful building with amazing internal features. Wonderful gardens. Helpful staff and a choice of two top restaurants.

Like stepping back in time, friendly English speaking staff. Luxurious at affordable price. Comfy beds with lovely toiletries. Breakfast wide choice and 2 exceptional restaurants on site for lunch and evening meal. Generous free on site parking and close to motorway

Warm welcome from the staff. Comfortable room. Good location. Lovely grounds. Beautiful building.

The dinner was a bit chaotic, as the staff forgot our entrée and we waited 45 minutes before we had to remind them. In the end we never had the entrée. However the main course and dessert were good.
