Hotel Campanile Leicester

The first room I was given had a strong chemical smell, it was a disabled room which I was not made aware of prior to my stay, the room was like an oven & there was no way to control the temperature as the control on the heater. One of the curtains was missing completely from the curtain pole & the TV didn't work. The second room was a twin with mattresses that I wouldn't expect my dogs to sleep on, a very tired & tatty hotel, the only saving grace was the lovely receptionist who doubled up as bar staff and restaurant waitress.

A hotel in great walkable for shops pubs and theatres etc. The free and securely locked at night car park was. A bonus not found often. Staff friendly and helpful and the hotel was imnaculately clean. Only minor criticism was its next to a major often noisy road and i missed the provision of glasses in the room. I can recommend the hotel for a value for money stay andit more than exceeds expectations.

Clean rooms. Great food in the restaurant. Friendly staff. The area outside of the hotel was not particularly safe or nice but that is hardly the fault of the hotel. The hotel overall provided a good stay for me.

Bed was way too soft and woke up with a bad back. Only 1 power socket which for a couple or family is not enough. Clean hotel and friendly staff though. Only 1 pillow each and no hand towels.

Booking was very straight forward through Expedia. We booked a double room, We picked up the key at reception and went to our room. Straight away we found that the room was smelling intensely of smoke. It appears that the previous occupant must have been smoking in there. It was quite unbearable so we rang reception person who apologised and allocated another room but this had twin beds, She advised that all other double rooms were booked! Furthermore, after we went to sleep at 11:00PM we heard a lot of shouting and arguing in the corridor. I rang reception again about and the person advised advised me that the police were attending to the matter. Even after the police left, the noise continued till about 2:00 PM. The whole experience was quite annoying specially as were in Leicester to attend my mother's funeral at 08:30 AM the following day!

The staff were great and very helpful It was unfortunate on the first night of our stay a group of revellers had to be removed from the Hotel for being noisy and unruly. the staff delt with this very quickly and they were evicted.Well done to those involved in the removal. Room 114 was directly above the smoking area and as such it could get quite noisy if you were in bed early the window double glazing does not act as a good sound barrier. Although the bath had two large unsightly black marks where the enamel had been chipped off and the sink was crackedacross the base. The Manager dealt with my complaint quickly and efficienty. Thank you. The room was very clean. The bed comfort is a matter of individual taste. I was very comfortable, my wife likes a firmer bed.

Too much noise from neighbouring room Customer service assistant was on the mobile while I waited to check out and took her a few minutes to look up and notice I was standing there. No apology too. Not too impressed

mattress was thin and the most uncomfortable thing iv ever slept on. and the pillows were as hard as a rock
