We came over the Feb half term break for 4 nights AI. Got a privte transfer from the airport, and it was about a 25 minutes trip. Checked in quickly, purple band for AI, and given a key card each. Our room was 505. Basic but functional, there was a large empty space where a 3rd bed must have been, a chair would have been useful there to fill the space. There was a sofa and 2 coffee tables. 2 single beds pushed together, but that was fine. Managed to get the AC to work properly by end of our break (this was an us issue though!) 1 plug socket and light at each side of the bed, with a little table to put bits. Small fridge, and provided with 1 large bottle of water (that the Sunrise bar on the roof terrace filled for us when needed, he also filled my other plastic water bottles too) Enough storage space for the time we were there, a safe which we didnt use. We had a seaview room, and the view was lovely, decent size balcony got the sun on the afternoon until 6.30pm. No plug socket next to where the kettle set was, but we just moved it to under the TV. Shower was nice and powerful, there was also body wash machine dispenser too. Towels were changed every other day which is fine. Really large mirror great for 2 people getting ready, and a shaving x4 mirror, and could use the shaver plug for my straightners. There was also an adequate hairdryer, but no diffuser/end attached. It was a very quiet room, we heard no evening noise. Food was fine, had everything you needed for breakfast, decent selection of 3 juices, 2 coffee machine (only 1 worked during our stay) Coul get fried eggs and omelettes made fresh.Lunch we had in main buffet restaurant, also good selection of different things and some things weremade fresh then also. Table service for drinks, which came quickly. Buffet evening meal, several show cooking stations, fresh fish, various meats, setaks, etc, were very good, preferred those over the other food, which could be on the cool side, but didnt realise until last night, there is a microwave to heat things up if you want. The deserts I was a little disappointed in as thats what I always ove about my holidays! Ice cream was a bit artificial, and the cake things werent really my thing, but there was fresh fruit. Always really busy by 8, so would have to wait a little longer to get drinks served, but never more than a 5 minute wait, the staff work very hard, just be patient with them, and smile and thank them. Didnt use the pool bar or the lobby bar. The sunrise bar on the roof terrace was where we got our drinks. Limited AI spritis offering, could pay for premium if you wanted to. There were 6 cocktails available, I would say 4 of them were really nice. In plastic cups for sunbathing area, glasses for seated area. Spirits are VERY generous servings, more like trebles, so be careful! We only used the downstairs pool once, which was a decent temp (slightly heated) We mainly used the roof terrace in the nudist sunbathing section, with 2 jacuzzis. Our 1st time, was very pleasant, and peaceful, plenty sunbeds, no one 'reserving' them. Hotel is in a very good location. There is a Spar right next to it, and 2 minute walk to beach, and 10-15 minutes to the various centres/shops, closest bar is Molly Malones (2 mins) Take cat treats with you and feed the strays at the deserted centre near hotel, they will appreciate it. Had a really nice break, Would I say its a 4* hotel? Probably not, but its a good 3*, and is perfectly adequate, we had no real issues, didnt starve, and the hotel was of a nice size, not too big. Entertainment, we saw water aerobics once, there were a few things happening on the roof terrace on an evening, we caught the music quiz, and guitaraist, both which were very good. Staff are all very nice nd work hard. Left little tips at end of our trip. Would we return? Yes
