Lajitas Golf Resort and Spa

The Lajitas golf resort is really the best place to stay around the area. Nice amenities, quiet, a very nice restaurant and comfortable rooms. A beautiful golf course annd well maintained lawn and Landscape. Our stay was pleasant. Some downsides were the cost of dining was ridiculous. There are some other options….super casual. It was extreme heat when we visited and the pool was very dirty. Cloudy and lots of particles floating around, and no pool towels left. We didn’t stay long, it felt gross. The kids room was comfortable, but there were some bugs in my daughter’s bed overnight. It wasn’t worth complaining as the resort was fully booked and you don’t have many other nice choices, so we just went with it. Our king room was very nice and comfy, but we had an unpleasant odor that lingered. If I come back to this area, overall, I would stay here again as options are limited.

Despite the rooms being old, it actually adds to the experience. I would definitely recommend this place.

We recently returned from Lajitas and have a mixed review. The golf was the main reason we went and the course was incredible and only getting better with more features they are adding. However we travelled a long way to get there and the overall experience was less of high quality resort bustling with people, poolside drink service, sunset/star viewing like we expected, and more of a mid-level experience. I had heard great things about Lajitas so there is a chance it’s under new management or something. One of the main restaurants is under slow renovations due to a kitchen fire so I’d recommend calling to see if Ocotillo is open before booking your stay, otherwise there is just one restaurant and no good sunset viewing spot. Also the casitas are probably a better experience than the hotel rooms as the rooms are bunched pretty close together and don’t have any views unless you stay in the Officer’s Quarters section. Pool was pretty bad so maybe go in the colder months. Spa was great and quality of food at the Candellia restaurant was really good. Would say it’s not worth the trip unless you play golf at least twice. And hopefully they restock on some better merch soon because we couldn’t find anything we liked and we’re easy to please when it comes to golf hats/shirts.

19 of us (9 couples & 1 single) descended on Lajitas Golf Resort and had the time of our lives. The resort was great, people were friendly, responsive & helpful. Loved the course and while many had been there before, many of us were first-timers but won't be last-timers. Several couples took in hikes around the area as well and The Starlight Theatre is a must do!

A weekend away at Lajitas is just what my soul needed. The grounds are so beautifully maintained, it just gives me peace to sit and admire it. Many walking/hiking trails nearby and a beautiful, mostly quiet pool to enjoy. The restaurant, coffee shop and general store were all excellent as well.

The property alone is beautiful

This was my third trip to LaJitas; first time flying the JSX charter from Love Field. We had an outstanding time. BlackJack's Crossing is still my favorite course in Texas. The house we rented overlooking the #2 green was outstanding, with incredible views. Clay shooting with John was an unforgettable experience. Dinner & drinks at the Starlight Theatre is all the nightlife we needed. I am already thinking about our next trip to LaJitas.

The golf course was is great shape and beautiful. Our room was not

The property could use some serious updating and a paint job, especially at the entrance. The bed was extremely soft and we felt like we were sinking in it. The bathroom was outdated. Other than that, the staff was incredibly helpful, room was clean and we enjoyed our stay. I will say, however, that the cost was VERY overpriced for a property in disrepair. We would not be back for that reason.

Beautiful property grounds. Great service staff in all areas. Pool needed cleaning, access gate to pool area on departing did not make sense. Coffee maker in room didn’t work (was replaced after 2nd request). Plus bedside lamp window side did not work. Plus apparently had animals roaming overhead on the roof waking us up at 3:30 am with their noise. Despite the above we enjoyed our visit to Lajitas/ Big Bend.
