Paso Robles Inn

This hotel is touted as a luxury hotel. The description and price point would indicate it should be a four-star, but it was definitely a three-star. Major positive: the employees on site are extremely professional and friendly. The valet/bellhop guys are very helpful. However, the front desk employees are either not equipped or not inclined to be extremely helpful, instead just listening to & apologizing for any issues. We stayed at the hotel from Tuesday till Friday. We noted that there were not very many guests checked in. This fact made it very baffling when we were awoken Wednesday morning to the sound of construction in the room directly above us. We were aware that the rooftop bar would be closed and under construction during our stay, but this construction was plumbing work being done in the room directly above us. This meant that not only were we woken up abruptly and early, but the room that we had moved into for 3 days had to be packed up so we could relocate to a different room. The daily happy hour that is promised online apparently does not take place during the week? So that was a promised amenity we in fact did not receive. Between lack of happy hour and no rooftop bar, we should have been given drink passes to the restaurant next door. We were, but only upon our request and only for one day. The "hot breakfast" was not hot, it was barely kept warm by a warming lamp, it was exactly the same everyday, and it was very basic. Additionally, there is no ice maker in the entire hotel. So if we wanted ice, which we did everyday, either we or the poor valet guys had to walk the tiny ice bucket over to the other hotel to fill it up. This makes absolutely no sense. It's also inconvenient that the only microwave in the whole hotel is a community microwave that we have to ask the concierge to use for us. Other than the issues and shortcomings we had, this hotel just overall didn't provide a luxury experience. It was a perfectly fine three-star hotel, but by no means a luxury experience.

This hotel was absolutely perfect! The staff were all so friendly and gave us a great recommendation for a driver to the wineries who was very flexible with us and light and easygoing! We had a fabulous day wine tasting then back to the hotel, perfectly located in the town center across from all the great restaurants and action! The room was clean and beautiful with plenty of space and comfortable beds, had a pool and jacuzzi, quiet despite being in the town center, but was a walk up in the building we stayed in so we had to lug all our suitcases up the stairs. Only thing I had to complain about lol but didn’t knock any stars off for that forced exercise :) all in all excellent value!

Our room was in the second floor and was a walk up in the building we stayed in (no elevator) so we had to lug all our suitcases up the stairs. Only thing I had to complain about lol but didn’t knock any stars off for that forced exercise :)

We had a wonderful getaway. Josh was excellent at the front desk while John was fantastic in the bar. Your shuttle service and driver were great also.

I had a garden room in the main Inn and it was beautiful. The room was big and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom well appointed. My only reason for not giving a five star review was that I had to leave a day early and I notified them before I checked in, but my final bill was almost the same as it would’ve been for the three nights. I suspect that they recalculated the rate and raised the room rate for the two nights - but since I don’t have a record of the rate per night for the original booking, I can’t be sure. I also booked through American Express and was given one price for the room, that was supposed to include all taxes and fees, and yet I found another $150 tacked on in fees in the itemized AMEX bill ABOVE the original quoted “rate including all taxes and fees” price. Some of the fees were resort fees (I didn’t use any facilities) and then on top of that a daily parking fee.” I know prices are going up everywhere but these extra charges and fees seem excessive.

Nice gardens, comfortable bed. Great cocktails in bar and very nice bartenders. Great location.

Thought I had booked a garden view downstairs with patio based on what was on booking.com but ended up being an upstairs room overlooking pool. Hotel was full so they could not move us. Had a function going on when we arrived and there was no parking. Charged us $20 per day for parking. Room was very small and not very quiet because we were by pool. Nice enough hotel, but definitely over priced for the small, noisy room.

Fantastic location. Rooms have a lot of charm along with the grounds. Holiday weekend, so coffee shop on premise was closed on Sunday and had a malfunction on Monday. Staff was pleasant. Bar was very cozy and fun.

This was such a beautiful property and charming hotel. The price is extremely reasonable for the accommodations. We also enjoyed the steakhouse and the saloon upstairs. The room was very charming and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend this hotel.

This was my first time staying at the Inn after formerly being a resident of Paso Robles and frequenting the Cattleman’s Bar over the years. The rooms were very well done and ours was very large. The room staff and food and beverage manager, Dan Duke, were all wonderful. Dan and Sally went above and beyond to accommodate our family with exceptional service. Sadly, I am giving this a 4 star review because the bar situation was terrible. We got there at 4:30 Saturday with a very large and growing family party. All of us were hotel guests. The bar was empty, but they would not allow us to sit at any tables, couches or on the balcony as those were reserved for guests coming later…many of whom I suspect were not even staying in the hotel. They made us stand or sit at the bar only on one side, while the remainder of the bar was truly empty. We left at 6:30 thanks to Dan very kindly accommodating our group with a table on the back patio. When we left, only one of the reserved tables had been occupied and that group of 4 left after an hour. A few other couples came in and sat at the end of the bar that we were not using. Meaning that aside from our large family party of hotel guests and a few other people at the end of the bar, only 1 four top was occupied. All of the balcony, couches and tables remained empty for the two hours we were there. We were not allowed to use those empty spaces even though I offered to vacate well before the reservations arrived. It is a very sad waste of space. Thank goodness Dan and Sally saved the day and our family ended up having a lovely time on the patio. The hotel lost a lot of food and drink business that night due to someone’s very poor planning and refusal to be flexible.
