De Vere Wokefield Estate

We had a fantastic experience at De Vere Wokefield. From the moment we arrived, Gareth went above and beyond to make our stay special—his attentiveness and kindness truly stood out. Our room was spacious, spotless, and beautifully arranged, with thoughtful little treats for the kids that made them feel extra welcome. It’s those small gestures that make a big difference. The setting was lovely, and the service throughout was excellent. Highly recommend for families looking for comfort and care.

On arrival was met by a rather inattentive receptionist who did not seem very enthusiastic to be working at front desk! Was very vague and uninterested with everything. We parked up and arrived at reception to be told we were staying across the other side of the estate in wellington lodge which we would either need to drive to or in the receptionists words “ hopefully someone will be available to buggy you across to the lodge” which to be honest the fact I was staying the night for a work Christmas party meant that I would need to find transport to the other side of the estate at 1am rather than being put in a room close the the venue. It was apparent on booking.com after checking in that on the smallest print ever that we were staying in Wellington lodge and not the mansion house which really was not clear enough upon booking.com as we did not even realise until we came to reception. Future recommendation to maybe make it a bit more clearer so that guests don’t have unclear expectations on arrival equating to fewer complaints. When we arrived in our room we were a bit confused as to why we were given a room with a double bed as we booked a twin room? Slightly strange to assume. The room in itself was quite nice and modern and the bathroom had a lovely rainfall shower but would be helpful if there was an extra shower head incase just washing hair etc… Aircon in the rooms was good and powerful but there was no mini fridge or any water bottles which I thought was a standard thing in hotel rooms. The room was also not to the highest of standards of cleaning as pictures show right next to the bed was a huge spiders web in plain view the second we came in the room we saw it, also the duvet cover was ripped and the inner duvet was exposed which is a bit unsanitary. Cleaning in general Was very slap dash. No hot water in the morning either which meant that a cold shower was the only thing possible which isn’t great.Other than that grounds were nice but not the best of hotels.

The pizza is amazing in the Manor House ! Staff so warm and friendly and a very comfy bed ! I love this place and will continue to return.

Set in lovely grounds (and golf course), this hotel complex is very relaxing and a joy to visit. We stayed in the Mansion House and were impressed the moment we saw the building. The rooms are spacious and very well appointed with a large comfortable bed and pillows. There is a safe and WiFi is good. There are a selection of hot drinks but it might good to have some water supplied too. The curtains ensure darkness in the room and a good night’s sleep. The bath/shower was good. Breakfast is a buffet and offers a good selection (the sausages won plaudits from friends). The grounds provide a lovely setting on a sunny morning. A terrific place to stay.

We stayed in a room in the Mansion House. The room was traditional, spacious, comfortable and quiet. There was a safe and plenty of cupboard and drawer space. The air conditioning was good for warming the room up. The bathroom only had a rain shower although we noticed that some of the other rooms had baths. There were two minor issues with the bathroom. The seal on the shower door was not perfect so the floor got wet. Also, the towel rail was above the toilet so you have to be careful to not drop towels into the toilet. Breakfast was served in the bar area of the Mansion House. It was a very good buffet, with a good choice of juices and other cold drinks, hot drinks, cereals, lots of fresh fruit, breads, pastries and hot food. There is a second building about 2 minutes walk from the Mansion House that has more modern hotel rooms, the health club, the golf club and restaurants. There is a reasonable sized swimming pool that is heated to a good temperature. We did find it quite difficult, when driving into the estate, finding our way to the best parking and to reception. This was particularly difficult in the dark. It took a couple of days for us to get to know our way around. All of the staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Everything was absolutely amazing modern classy facilities all of the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming Ellie catered all of our needs and ensure our stay was perfect Excellent stay overall yet Ellie was the remarkable thing her welcoming and performance was outstanding definitely coming back as promised

We booked this stay for our wedding anniversary, and with my wife currently pregnant, we were really looking forward to a nice, relaxing long weekend away. Unfortunately, on the first night, other guests were running down the corridor, shouting, and banging on doors until around 4 a.m. We fully appreciate that this was not the hotel’s fault. My wife raised the issue with reception to see if we could move rooms. William assured us that he would speak to the manager at 12 noon. At 12:10, we received a lovely phone call from the manager, Marshall, who apologised for the previous night (despite it not being the hotel’s responsibility) and kindly upgraded us to a suite in the Mansion House as a gesture of goodwill. We are extremely thankful for the way the staff handled the situation—truly amazing customer service. Thank you for a lovely stay! Please pass our thanks on to both William and Marshall; they are a credit to your team.

My Partner and I just had a wonderful 2 night's stay at your beautiful hotel Everything was perfect from start to end. I've just had a fantastic 2 night stay celebrating my 30th birthday at Wokfield Estate. Everything was amazing from checking in to check-out. The staff were super friendly, particularly Charlotte Knight. Charlotte looked after us and ensured we have everything that we needed. Even arranged a lovely platter for my birthday that was served after dinner. I was very surprised and have enjoyed the chocolate cake very much. I also want to mention Marco in the restaurant, Marriam and the lovely lady at reception(Bona I think is the name - apologies if the spelling is not right). They all looked after us and ensure we have a pleasant stay. The room was amazing (251) in the Mansion House. Very comfortable bed, quiet, bright with 3 large windows and so cozy. Both, breakfast and dinner were very good. I really enjoyed the chicken caprese and the buratta as a starter. On breakfast I liked that tea pots are provided on the buffet and you can help yourself to as much tea as you like. Overall, a relaxing stay made extra special by Charlotte Knight and the team. Thank you ever so much 😊 Can't wait to return!
