De Vere Wokefield Estate

A fantastic experience yet again at De Vere Wokefield. For our business conference of 4 days the team did nothing but support and cater to our every need. I’d like to call out Ellie on check in, in particular, who went over and above to help our event flow perfectly. We will be back!

The reception staff were amazing - I cannot praise them enough - the hotel staff were excellent throughout !

Stayed on a Your Happy Place offer, to include dinner/bed/breakfast. Our room was in the Mansion House - excellent. Mansion House was empty, were we the only ones there?! Dinner was in The View, which is really part of the leisure club - very poor, one out of ten. Inedible burgers. This was a real let down. It just didn’t match the smartness of the Mansion House. Very much a poor relation. Breakfast was back in the Mansion House - very good. So, a bit of a strange combination - part very smart, part very third rate. Played golf. A tricky course, but it needs some TLC and money spent. Beginning to look tired and unloved in places, especially the greens, tees and fairways (admittedly there is a hose pipe ban). Goody bag of soaps, lotion, choccies, fizz, biscuits. Nice.

Just spoke to Tej on the phone at Wokefield Estate reception. He was so helpful and answered all our queries. Nothing was too much for him. Fantastic service. Thank you! Can’t wait for our visit now.

You don’t actually get what you pay for. The room was in another building, not what the picture shows, there was no power in the room, reception didn’t answer the phone and I was running late for a wedding. Eventually they answered and resolved the issue.

Location of this hotel is great - very peaceful setting and beautiful grounds. Hotel itself is in two parts - old mansion house and main hotel. We stayed in the main hotel which was very modern, spacious and great facilities. The bedrooms though were lovely and very spacious and both had views over the golf course. We did ask in advance for two rooms next to each other as the children were in one, but they were not, they were two rooms apart. This turned out to be ok for us but could have been difficult if they were younger. Food in the restaurant was lovely for breakfast and dinner. The golf bar was lively most of the day which was a nice atmosphere. Facilities of the hotel are great - pool, gym and driving range all great fun for families with lovely grounds just to walk around. We did walk over to the mansion house and sat on the terrace and had a coffee. This part of the hotel was very quiet with no one really around so we were pleased to have been staying in the main hotel. Finally, staff everywhere were great - very helpful and friendly and happy to accommodate a family with children.

Honestly conflicted on my stay as based on the location of the room and the being the root cause of my dissatisfaction, it was okay. Initial booking was no issue and received the usual comms prior to arriving along with an “offer” to upgrade to a room in the “Manor House” which I went for. The room was on the top floor (3rd) at the end of the corridor and initial everything was okay. Some dropped popcorn on the stairwell but nothing untoward. The room allocated was however down the Restaurant end of the manor and the smell of the vents from the kitchen meant it was impossible to have the window open while the kitchen was open due to the smell of cooking fats venting - combined with the area at the bottom of the stairwell being used to store dirty plates from service - again leading to a strong odour up the staircase to the rooms. Finally this morning I noticed some rather unclean bedding as I pulled my covers back, not what I was expecting at all! I avoided breakfast…. Finally on the stairs on the way out… the popcorn from the previous evening….

We stayed for a family wedding hosted at the Mansion House and thoroughly enjoyed our time. The venue is fantastic and perfect for occasions like this. All the staff were helpful and friendly - shout out to Tej at the Mansion House reception for going the extra mile to look after us.

The service was very good .Ellie was especially helpful and did a fantastic job of helping us and enhanced our stay. Only comment to make regarding your service is your vegan range is quite limited when it comes to breakfast if this is expanded that would accommodate even more Vegans .

We had a golf day with yourselves arranged by Abbie and ran on the day by Sean Mclntyre, Both very helpful through the process. Couldn’t thank Sean enough for the help on the day, everything I needed a hand with he was there, no complaints at all. Great service. All staff members very polite
