Sun City Hotel and Casino

Literally can not believe the reviews on here which made me anxious, I have got here and the place is unreal immaculate the staff are lovely just been to legends restaurant 2, steaks and a bottle of wine for 34 pound!!! Xxx it’s got a really nice vibe my room is spotless excited for the next few days x

Sun City is a large resort with lots to do on site for all the family. This was a short visit and I had a pleasant stay. The resort site is big but transport is provide around the grounds. The room is a good size and was suitable for our needs. The food at breakfast had a lot of choice and staff very helpful. The restaurant was busy at breakfast but the queue for food was not too bad. There are a choice of restaurants you can choose from and also valley of the waves is popular if you have children. I also did the safari and this was an enjoyable part of the trip.

We stayed at the Sun City Casino Hotel in late August (still winter in South Africa) On 2 days we had temperature in the 30 degrees, 2 days had temperatures in the mid 20s and one where the temperature was high teens. You were allowed to use the pools at the adjacent hotels as well as the waterpark but not the Palace hotel. All the pools were not heated * including the Lazy river at the Valley of the waves so make sure you go there on a hot day. *Apart from a tiny part of the pool in Cascades which was warm! The Casino was a central location and was the centre of the night life for the area (Particularly at the weekends when there was a nightclub on site) During our stay there was some renovation work being carried out on the property but we were given an upgrade to a quieter room, which was good of them. The overall service was really good and breakfast was extensive with anything you would wish for on a buffet-style basis. We did use the Casino on one night and had to get a card to use it but, it was free and didn't take long you just needed a passport for identification. The hotel was quite quiet during the week but livened up at weekends. On site were a number of reasonably priced restaurants, Legends was our favourite as it had live music and you could have a dance too. The Maze is worth a visit and there are lots of activities to do from the hotel. We did a game drive, an escape room and a segway tour to the crocodile pit. All these activities were excellent.

My hotel room was old and disgusting. My shower had mould and I just wanted to leave. The Cherry restaurant customer service is disgraceful. Staff are rude and unwelcoming. Sun City as a whole needs a revamp. It is old and skank. Staff need customer service training. The Shun De restaurant was expensive but disappointing. I am a vegetarian. I ordered a vegetarian dish and found a prawn leg in my meal.... let's hope it was a prawn leg and not something else disgusting. Breakfast, tables are dirty, cutlery is dirty. My 72 year old mother was locked out of her room from 10am when we left for breakfast until 7pm as no one knew how to fix her door lock. The key card mechanism was malfunctioning. No apology that my mother had no access to her things for so many hours. Sun City service and facilities are not worth my or your money!

Disappointing service and standards. The standard at sun city dropped significantly for the price you pay. Compared to the old Sun city the money you paid was worth every cent. We stayed at the cabana. The room was not ready at 2pm check in time. So we were given another room. The tv was not working The toilet door has a loud squeek when you open and close. The toilet and shower were not properly cleaned meaning that the grout on the floor tiles was dirty and the shower has mold in the grout. Before I booked in at suncity I stay at magaliespark and from there drove straight to suncity so seeing the cleanliness of the suncity bathroom just put me off as magaliespark was absolutely clean. The breakfast that is served at sun city is so low budget compared to how it was previously. It's just not worth paying that money for a stay.

Don't visit this hotel at all. Absolute waste of Money and the long drive from J'Burg, The staff all across is very rude, unhelpful & waiting for you to make a mistake, so they can correct you. Visit this place only if you want to waste time and money. This hotel spoilt our entire day vacation in SA which is generally a beautiful country with less friendly people.

Come often to Sun City It’s safe perfectly maintained well kept There is so much to do day and night life The greatest food places Water fun is really great The best bird and animal life seen The plant variety is like more than a million and so well maintained. Truly great venue for family or conference and functions

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Sun City. Staff were very professional and helpful. Food was excellent and lots of activities to do. We will definitely visit again for longer next time.
