Club Wyndham Newport Onshore

Perfect location with free parking; excellent accommodations

We think it is grossly unfair that Club Wyndham Newport Onshore has a policy that they can CANCEL a reservation, even when credit card is charged a few days before arriving. Last year our reservation was cancelled on the DAY OF ARRIVAL. When we questioned the cancellation at the office, we were told that this is a timeshare property, and the only way to avoid cancellation is to join the Club, prepay for points, and book through the Club. VERY DISCONCERTING!!! We lucked out this year and were able to complete our stay. The accommodations and location are amazing! Fortunately, any alternative booking agent, such as Booking.com, will guarantee same price at a different hotel suggested by them on their own website, however the accommodations are not at all equal to Onshore.

It was a very nice place, clean and beautiful room. The view from our room was the best!

We had a family tragedy and I contacted the resort to tell us we were delayed to not arriving Friday but Sunday or Monday. Got back an ok tell us when arriving. I texted arriving on Monday and whe we got there we were told our reservation was cancelled online, not their doing. Sowe did not have our week condo paid for. Never was there fine print that after 24 hours not taking the reservation on the RCI form that indicated that. It seems that the human end was dealing with me but the AI reservation was not. Horrible service from the Wyndham to do this when we reached out to them . They put us up in another Wyndham substantially lower with basic and not the amenities we booked and farther away.

Excellent place to stay! The resort is right on the water. Great ocean view. My two bedroom 2 bath slept 6. Full kitchen, 2 decks, fire place. Extremely comfortable beds! Excellent quality sheets. Very nice decor thru out. Large dining table. Can't wait to go back with my family. Historic Newport is a excellent place to visit all year round. Great restaurants, beaches, scenic shores. Historic mansions. Wyndham Onshore staff were very accommodating. I loved being able to communicate by texting.
