If you like to relax in the South African bushveld with wild animals on your doorstep, Kwa Maritane is the place to go

Great property in the middle of Pillanesburg National park! Pros- Cleanliness, sincere staff, two safari drives a day! Cons- No Halal food option but the chef tried their best to accommodate us. No heat in the room but we had plenty of blankets. I still recommend this property for folks wanting to enjoy African safari.

This revamped property is good value for money for families. The room we stayed in was newly painted and had new furniture and linen - so it was nicer than when we stayed at this property before. Our game drive guide, Bongani, was knowledgeable and told us interesting facts. However, two toddlers from two different families on our vehicle ruined our game drive with their continual crying and non-stop talking, which the parents made no effort to stop. The children walked around when the vehicle was moving, putting themselves at risk of injury - and they made so much noise next to fighting elephants that they put us all at risk. I would not go on another game drive at this property unless there were only grown children and adults on the vehicle. As this cannot be guaranteed, and as the property is more interested in filling seats than providing a pleasant experience, I would not recommend a game drive at Kaw Maritane to adults or foreigners because your chances of having a compromised experience are high.

We thoroughly enjoyed the stay at this luxury bush lodge. Truely deserving awards for best hotel and lodge. Huge restaurant overlooking a waterbody and jungle which gives u the view of animals and birds. Food was amazing although we had to ask for veg Indian meals as we were travelling with kids. They were kind enough to make without any arguments. Had wine tasting in evening.The property is huge and next to gate for safari. They arrange cantor safari with breakfast or high tea in the jungle. Cherry on the cake is a secret tunnel leading to a hide which overlooks waterbody in the jungle. You can watch from the TV channel in ur room. Overall excellent experience.

The most amazing holiday, our first time in South Africa. Kwa Maritane was brilliant, traditional, fabulous staff, comfy rooms, immaculate grounds. We loved every minute and did not want to leave. The game drives and rangers were superb. We saw 4 of the big 5. Spectacular.

Highly Recommend! This is the perfect lodge for exploring Pilanesberg National Park. We stayed four nights at the beginning of May and had an absolutely amazing time. The lodge is immaculate and the rooms spacious. Breakfast and dinner were included and had very good options and the restaurant is open for lunch. The staff were friendly and provided exceptional service. The lodge is right in the National Park and has its own entrances for the included game drives so you are immediately in the park. The trucks used for the game drives are very comfortable and the guides were all very knowledgeable. We had rhinos, elephants, zebras and impalas right next to the fence just metres away from our room, just roaming through the park. There are a great variety of activities to keep you busy during the day and two beautiful pools available for swimming. The snake show was particularly interesting. If you are self driving you can enter the park through the gate at the main entrance to the lodge. This was excellent value for money and I would not hesitate to return if we ever get the chance.

very serene and peaceful break away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Animals like the Rhino, elephant, giraffe zebra deer baboons etc. come past your chalet to drink water. what a sight. Variety of Birds greeting you early in the morning just makes the day very special

Kwa Maritane is a great place to stay: relaxing in the bush, watching the rhino and herd of impala right in front of you from your porch as well as the hide where you can really come very close to the animals! BUT the tar roads is so full of potholes inside the Pilanesberg Reserve and calved away that you can not concentrate on the bush! Luckily we are privileged to travel in a 4x4 car, I won't attempt this road with a normal car. As we love to self drive this will be the main reason for me to avoid the park.

We had the most incredible stay at KwaMaritane Bush Lodge- a truly magical escape that exceeded all our expectations. Our cabana offered a breathtaking view of the bush, and one of the highlights of our stay was watching wildlife via the live stream from the lodge’s hide as well as the close up views in the hide itself- such a unique and immersive experience, especially with the animals coming and going throughout the day and night. The entire lodge is spotlessly clean, well-maintained, and tastefully decorated, with a tranquil, romantic atmosphere that made our stay feel extra special. The facilities are world-class- from the serene pool area to the spa and mini golf, every detail is thoughtfully executed to enhance your experience. KwaMaritane is the perfect blend of luxury and nature. We left feeling relaxed, refreshed, and already planning our return.
