"Checks all the boxes...."

10.0

We just returned with multiple families from a stay at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. If you’re traveling with kids, this is the place to be. Our group had kids ages 7 to 14, and everyone had a blast—there is a constant abundance of activities to keep everyone busy. the adults were able to have a great time because the kids always had things to do. The Service: What makes this resort special is the staff we had. They were incredibly accommodating to our large group, and could make adjustments on the fly. Edgar, our personal concierge, was a rockstar and handled everything for us daily. Ricardo, our butler, provided top-tier service that made the stay feel seamless. Jorge, Santiago, and Ivan at the cabanas were the highlight of our days—they took amazing care of us while we relaxed by the pool. WITHOUT THEM, THERE WOULD BE NO REVIEW. They kept making sure we had a full glass of tequila (with ice) and constant food for the kiddos! The Highlights: The Gym: Hands down the best I’ve seen at any hotel. Huge selection of machines, plus two pickleball courts and a half-court basketball setup. The boot camps and classes were excellent. Kids and adults that worked out couldn't stop raving about this. Dining: Poolside food was great, which made it easy to spend the whole day in the sun. You want to make sure you have breakfast all the time at Molina and Casa Cortez. The vibes were perfect there...right on the beach. Hibachi was a MUST and the Steakhouse was good. Make sure you try the Indian restaurant as well. I wasn't a fan of the Buffett hall...needs a makeover. If you want a high-energy resort for kids with good service for adults, book this Hyatt.

"Another amazing experience at Hyatt Ziva Cabo"

10.0

We had a wonderfully located swim up suite. Highly recommend. The best meal was lunch at Casa Cortez. Right on the beach. Very clean. Excellent and attentive service. Had great fish tacos, a whole fried fish with sides. All delicious. Water glasses and drinks were kept full and plenty on checking in to make sure w writhing was good. I asked for the manager’s name to compliment her. Deisi Colio you are doing an AMAZING job! I do events for my company and hoping to bring one of them here in 2027. Top notch from start to finish. Thanks again Deisi!!!

"Great restaurants, older property being renovated some staff good check in needs improvement"

8.0

We stayed from December 9 to December 16 in room #3534. Overall great experience as a result of it being an off season week, great staff and beautiful property. Restaurants are excellent aswell, Indian, Italian Mexican Japanese and seafood was exceptional. Our room was on the older side and there was a sewage smell coming from the shower. We reported it and a lemon solution was put which left a strong odour in the room and then following day we reported it again and nothing was done. I was also disappointed with the check in process was left lost as to the property layout, where to eat when we arrived left me lost and anxious about how the remaining time will be as we paid for an expensive package. The Check-in also inputted my email incorrectly and my world Hyatt number. I called but was told I have checked out they could not correct my email address or points for world Hyatt. I paid a lot for this special vacation so felt cheated. The bufffet was a big disappointment breakfast was good but lunch and dinner no options left over food, the buffet was also closed for Lunch and dinner so if you arrive on those days you have no option to eat until the restaurants open. What made up for it was some of the staff I’d like to recognize some of them especially Marisol at the buffet made us a special vegetarian fajitas, Sergio at the Mexican restaurant gave us great service and information about Cabos. Ajay Kumar at the Indian restaurant was amazing in the dishes he created. Orlando, Lorenzo and Pedro at the Japanese restaurant were amazing had a great experience and service. At the Italian restaurant Roberto was awesome. Christian and checkout was also very helpful and considerate. I’ve attached pictures of these employees and I hope the resort will recognize them for their great service. Overall great resort but was disappointed in the sewage smell and no resolution was offered, buffet was awful. Indian restaurant was amazing, breakfast at the seafood restaurant was so favourable. Italian restaurant was excellent.

"Amazing Christmas Vacation!"

10.0

We had a family of 11 from age 3 to 83. We’ve been to several resorts across Mexico and the Caribbean and this was by far our favorite! The food was excellent and the staff were so amazing! (Shout out to Edgar, our favorite poolside server)! We typically pick somewhere new to vacation every Christmas but it’s going to be hard not the run it back next year!

"Very Disappointing Stay After Previous Great Experience"

2.0

I stayed here last year in a newly renovated room and had an amazing experience. The lobby was festive, the pool was clean, and the food was good. Based on that stay, I rebooked and specifically requested a renovated room. Unfortunately, I was placed in an older room instead, and the experience was terrible. The room was dusty and dirty, shower tiles were falling off, and the toilet seat was smaller than the toilet. There were hardly any towels provided. Overall, it was just disgusting. The pool bathrooms were also dirty. It’s shocking how much this property has declined in just one year. I will not be staying here again.

"Great service at Indian restaurant"

10.0

We had a wonderful dining experience at Mahika at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos. This is a fairly new restaurant (opened about 6 months ago), and it truly stands out for both its food and impeccable service. We have strict dietary requirements — a pure vegetarian diet with no eggs, no onion, and no garlic — and the entire team went above and beyond to accommodate us with care and attention. A special shoutout to Natalia at the front desk, Manager Mario, and Chef Jay for their exceptional hospitality. They took the time to understand our needs, ensured clear communication with the kitchen, and made us feel completely comfortable and confident with every dish served. The food was flavorful, thoughtfully prepared, and beautifully presented. It’s rare to find a restaurant that combines authentic taste with such a high level of personalization and warmth. For a new restaurant, Mahika has already set a very high standard. If you’re staying at Hyatt Ziva Los Cabos—especially if you have special dietary needs—this place is an absolute must-visit. We truly appreciate the team’s dedication and outstanding service!

"Great hospitality!!"

10.0

The first room I was checked into was extremely unpleasant. It had a strong smell of mould, and the fixtures were visibly old and poorly maintained. The room layout was also inappropriate, as the partition separating the bedroom and bathroom had large gaps, resulting in a serious lack of privacy. After I raised a complaint, I was moved to another room. While this room did not have the mouldy smell, it still suffered from the same maintenance and layout issues. Although the resort’s overall infrastructure is good, several of the buildings contain very outdated rooms that are in clear need of renovation. The hotel staff were outstanding, particularly Uriel Melchor, the Chief Concierge, as well as the restaurant teams, all of whom demonstrated an exceptional commitment to customer satisfaction. Uriel was quick to understand our allergy concerns and proactively coordinated with all the restaurants to ensure suitable customized food options were available throughout our stay. We had an especially memorable experience at Casa Cortez, the seafood restaurant. Chef Rico and the restaurant manager, Deisi Colo, went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, consistently preparing customized meals at our requested times. They even created dishes completely outside their standard menu and cuisine, which was truly impressive. The Italian restaurant, Farina e Olio, also had an excellent team who were equally attentive and accommodating with all of our allergy-related requests.

"The friendliest staff ever! Great stay!"

10.0

We had the best time during our Christmas stay. Our room was wonderful, the views were incredible, and every staff member showed exceptional kindness throughout our trip. A special thank you to Alejandro, our beach attendant, and the breakfast servers at La Plaza. They consistently went out of their way to help and always greeted us with a smile when we crossed paths around the resort. The hotel felt beautifully maintained and impeccably clean. We would definitely come here again.

"Just okay"

6.0

Trying to be as balanced and objective as possible, this resort is just okay in most respects. There is nothing particularly bad or “wrong” about it but it is definitely not a 5 star resort and sits in a different universe compared to true 5 star places like Grand Velas or 4.5 star places like Grand Solmar. Expect inconsistency that hovers in the 3.5 to 4 star range. Definitely would not classify this as a “luxury” resort, so set your expectations accordingly. It is best categorized as upscale midrange. Pros - Convenient location to San Jose del Cabo - Beautiful beach (though not swimmable - common for Los Cabos) - Multiple restaurants with generally kind and friendly waitstaff - Enormous pool - Generously sized rooms - Nice gym - Could be a decent value at the right price - Rooms were quiet and comfortable in late evening and mornings. Comfortable sleep was not an issue. Cons - The noise (loud-ish music with heavy bass blaring from the pool area throughout the day, beginning from about 11am). If you are seeking peace and serenity, this place is not for you. The design of the resort complex traps and radiates noise. The evenings are much better and more peaceful. - Many small children (could be a pro for families with small children) - Uneven and mediocre food (some good, mostly meh). The French place and Casa Cortez were generally pretty good. The other places were average or below. Drinks are mostly meh. Lack of decent fresh fruit drinks, smoothies (they were bad) etc. Generally an uneven, 3.5 star dining experience. - Facilities are generally decently maintained but due to the age and high traffic nature of this very large resort, signs of wear and tear are obvious and visible in the common areas and rooms. Some of the casual food and bar areas near the pool look worn and even a bit dirty in some cases. Overall, this resort is not “bad” by any means — you will have an okay to good experience — but it’s ho-hum and not special or luxurious in any way. It’s probably best and most convenient for those with small children. Otherwise, I probably wouldn’t recommend it unless you are okay with “just okay” and are able to get a good deal. If you are seeking or expecting a 4.5 or 5 star luxury experience, definitely steer clear.
