The Phoenix Hotel Yogyakarta - Handwritten Collection

This was our first stop in Indonesia. The drive from the airport took about 2 hours - I had not bargained for that but the hotel provided a very nice vehicle for 5 pax. reasonably priced. The rooms are a bit dated but very comfortable. The beds and pillows were very comfy. The shower space in the toilet was rather cramped. The towels were also dated as was the toilet but we liked the place. The service. The food. The staff .. and the spa... was possibly the best we had on our near 2 week stay in Indonesia. Not too far from Jalan Malioboro with diverse shops. The street closes to traffic after 6 p.m. and the entire place comes a live with music and freindly young people. The ambience is great. There is a money changer just 5 minute walk from the hotel. Train station from which we took the train to Probolinggo is also round the corner. All in all a nice, convenient place and we will stay there again.

A wonderful experience at an unique location. A fabulous ditch colonial building that keeps the traditional touches in all rooms. Staff are extremely helpful and go out of their way to assist in making your stay the best. A special thanks to Silkia, a wonderfully happy and helpful staff member.

Wonderful colonial style hotel. It is like staying in a Museum. Wonderful staff so very helpful.

We got woken up repeatedly for a lost shirt. We were getting up every day at 430 and trying to recover from jetlag so it was hard. If we had skipped doing laundry with the hotel it would have been 5 stars but it's hard to give that to a hotel that doesn't let you sleep. Breakfast was great

Excellent in all regards. Very clean rooms and helpful staff. Prices at the restaurant are a bit high (more comparable to prices in North America or Europe) and the food was ok. Everything else was perfect

Staff was great, room was clean and good sleeping bed with nice beddings and pillows. Warm showers. We’re hapoy staying here even for just overnight.

This is a very clean and comfortable hotel. The property is beautiful, and the staff is friendly and provides great service.

The hotel is excellent. Rooms are spacious. Services are good in the rooms & outside the breakfast area also. The staffs are kind & welcome with a great smile on there face. Pool was very clean & my daughter enjoyed. We stayed for 4 nights so we felt that the food variety is not so much. I like to stay in the same hotel if I make it another time

The service at the restaurant is fantastic. The people are very nice and very polite. Fitri in particular has been wonderful for the duration of our stay. A fantastic employee that says hello every morning and is more than accommodating. Would recommend this hotel.
