Don Carlos Marbella

Fabulous hotel- the service is excellent and it is absolutely beautifully decorated. The bedding and towels are exceptional. We enjoyed the various bars- great poolside bartender- made amazing cocktails. Dined for breakfast lunch and dinner and the food was very good. Lived the grounds and the pools as well as the beach area.

We have visited the hotel many times and this was the first since it was refurbished. We were not disappointed it has been done fantastically well. The public areas are beautifully decorated and furnished. The rooms are very comfortable and the beds superb. As a returning guest we were given an upgrade with a fantastic sea view. The restaurants are also very good as is the service and food. The pool area and sunbeds are very well laid out and comfortable. There is still an additional restaurant to be completed which I was told would be next year My only negative would be the beach club, which used to be free to hotel guests has now been taken over by Nikki Beach and they now charge €40 per person to use the beach club which has always previously been free. A real let down.

The hotel is gorgeous with so many amenities, and the staff was amazing from start to end.

I have been coming to this area for 27 years and have always enjoyed the Don Carlos. The highlight in our opinion was the bar which had a magnificent view! The bar now in the newly revamped hotel is nothing as nice and lacks atmosphere. The lovely boutique is also GONE and has been replaced with a tiny one selling swimwear, t shirts shorts etc…, I walked from Nikki beach up by the side of the hotel and the amount of litter was disgraceful! Not ideal outside a five star hotel! Off putting!

The Don Carlos Marbella was a memorable visit for all the right reasons. The Hotel was beautiful, the facilities wonderful, the cleanliness of the location without comparison and all staff friendly, professional & helpful.

We needed a back-up plan as our original tour idea didn’t work. Natalia to our rescue! She shared her idea of visiting Mijas Pueblo and wrote down places to explore. The highlight of our visit was the Mayan Monkey Mijas store. We had a history lesson about cacao beans, made bars of chocolate & decorated them, and graduated from the Mayan Monkey Mijas University. While we waited for our chocolate to cool, we enjoyed delicious ice cream from there. It was a perfectly wonderful day - thanks to Natalia.

From the moment we arrived at Don Carlos Marbella, we felt genuinely welcomed. The personal service throughout our stay made a real difference. A special thank you to Adrian from the Front Desk and the Guest Service team, who went above and beyond to follow up on our lost baggage — their care and ownership really lifted our spirits. We were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and pleasantly surprised with a much-appreciated room upgrade, which set the tone for a wonderful stay. The same level of attentiveness was shown by the hostess at breakfast, the pool team members, and many others — all contributing to a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable, with excellent service including timely towel changes and thoughtful evening turn-downs. Just a small tip: the closet space is a bit limited for two people, and the safe’s location on the floor isn’t the most convenient. That said, these are minor details in an otherwise fantastic experience. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Service and facility were excellent, a #5 rating for sure. However, we sent laundry out the morning before we checked out and it wasn’t returned that evening as indicated. Fortunately, we were still in the area, not flying out of Malaga for three days. We were able to stop by two days later to pick them up. The staff was very gracious and helpful, but it was a little bit of a blip.
