The room, grounds, staff and location were excellent. The inside of the hotel was very nice and had everything you would need.

The outside looks a bit outdated and the indoor pool and hot tub were needing updating. Pretty expensive for one night.

We went there for a Convention. I called a week before I got there because we had to get a Double Queen room because there was 5 of us. The room only slept 4 but was offered a rollaway bed. Fast forward on the day we arrived I asked for a rollaway bed. No problem I was told. It never came. I asked 2 more times and was told no problem. 6 hours later I talked to Manager and was told that because we was in a Double Queen room that a rollaway bed would not fit and there was nothing they could do because it was a fire hazard to have that many people in the room but did nothing to change it. We had to buy an air mattress from Walmart so one of our children could sleep in the floor. We had to call 2 times to get extra bedding for the air mattress and stayed there for 2 nights when it was a fire hazard. So I will be talking to the State Fire Marshal about that. The room was not cleaned well because we found a pair of underwear that was not ours under the curtain by our window. The pool area was moldy and missing ceiling tiles and nasty. We will never stay there again for the price we had to pay. We would have gotten better service and rooms at a Ramada or Comfort Inn. Don't waste your time here unless you like throwing money away.

Never got to enjoy the experience....booked this for a surprise for my husband to relax and get a massage. Their should definitely be an option to reserve a spa treatment on booking. Needless to say when we arrive the hotel couldn't find our reservation so we asked about the spa times for appointment and it was completely booked for the weekend so we decided to stay somewhere else. Before leaving we were assured that we would not be charged because THEY DIDNT SEE A RESERVATION FOR US. Anywho we were still charged and I forgot to mention we drove 6 hrs just for this so we made the best of our time in a basic hotel went home the next morning.

There was a sewage odor in our room. Three employees said they didn't smell it. Finally, one employee admitted there was a problem on our floor and that they had sprayed many of the rooms and tried to locate the source of the odor. We stayed two nights with this situation. We have been to this motes ten times over the past 20 years. Never expected something like this would happen.

I thought the hotel was nice and in better shape that I thought it would be.

I was disappointed that we had to book a room for 2 nights when we only needed 1.

Location great to Kentucky horse park,

We visited in spring but just a few days before the outdoor area pool etc were reopened - so we missed hanging out at the pool and patio area

We recently spent a long weekend at the Marriott Griffin Gate. I hadn’t stayed there in many years and was looking forward to seeing the results of the reported $30 million renovation. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. While there were some visible updates in the main areas and guest rooms, the property overall still felt dated and worn, particularly for a hotel that has undergone such a significant investment. We were fortunate to receive our room at check‑in, but later heard other guests being told at 5:00 p.m. that their rooms were not yet ready. Service throughout the stay was also uneven. On a couple of visits to the bar/restaurant, service was quite slow, and it appeared the staff was stretched thin. We were charged a resort fee, but the included amenities were never explained at check‑in. It wasn’t until the third day that we learned the fee included two cocktails of the day and complimentary bike rentals. When I later asked about using a bike, I was told they were all locked up and unavailable because the only front desk employee on duty could not leave the desk to unlock them. There were some enjoyable aspects. We liked the fire pits and spent a pleasant evening there, and the pool area itself looks appealing. However, we were disappointed to learn that the pool only operates from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Given how warm the weather was during our April stay, having the pool open would have made a noticeable difference. Overall, the stay did not quite live up to the promise suggested by the renovation and added resort fee. While there were a few positives, the experience left us disappointed enough that we are unlikely to return.
