The hotel services and activities are excellent. Yes for Barcelo maya Colonial - Huge NO for the nexus representative Who was very very rude, irrespectful, stressful and unhelpful on purpose.

Nice beach. Amazing rooms with balconies. Staff was great. Buffets and restaurants very excellent. Plenty of entertainment. Lots of clean bathrooms. Arrange for travel to and from Cancun airport

This resort is beautifully decorated with fountains, statures and gardens everywhere. The food was excellent and the rooms spacious, clean and comfortable. The quality and variety of food was extensive. Our daughter with celiac disease was well taken care of by the very knowledgeable staff. Snorkelling was easily accessible with many types fish and even sea turtles seen.

Went for my daughter’s wedding. Nice large resort and quite clean with friendly staff. Would recommend.

Check-in was rough right from the start. We were rushed, not given basic information like the WiFi password or towel cards, and directions to our room were not explained. The front desk staff could not (or would not) clearly guide us, and we had to rely on a bellhop to find our room. Room issues were unacceptable. Our shower head did not work the first morning and remained unfixed for over 36 hours, even after multiple complaints. When we raised the issue, we were met with attitude rather than urgency. Additionally, tile near the sliding door was coming loose, and overall maintenance felt neglected. Communication and service were inconsistent. One night, the tennis court lights were left on, shining directly into our room (Room 6385). When we called guest services, there was a language barrier and no clear assistance. It took multiple calls and using a translator app just to get acknowledgment, and the issue was not handled promptly. Cleanliness and basic upkeep were lacking. At one point, the lobby restroom had no toilet paper in multiple stalls. When we informed the front desk, the response was simply, “we know,” with no urgency or follow-up. Food was the biggest disappointment. All buffets were essentially the same and consistently poor. Breakfast was only decent because of the omelette station. Coffee was subpar, and juices tasted artificial. Overall, the food quality was among the worst we’ve experienced at a resort. Transportation issues added to the frustration. Our return transfer through Delta Vacations never showed up, forcing us to arrange and pay for our own cab. 👍 Positives • Property itself has potential • Some staff (like bellhop) were helpful • Location and grounds are nice 👎 Major Issues • Poor check-in experience • Lack of responsiveness to maintenance issues • Inconsistent service and communication • Very poor food quality • Basic operational issues (restrooms, lighting, etc.) 💯 Bottom Line This resort looks great on the surface, but service, food quality, and attention to detail are well below expectations. With better management and responsiveness, this could be a much better experience—but as it stands, we would not return.

Nice one stop shop. they have everything you need without having to leave the resort. plenty for the kids to do as well!

We liked our experience overall and would come back given the same price point. The facilities, service, and food are decent for the price. The rooms desperately need maintenance and were extremely humid at all times. We hated people "reserving" pool chairs and not showing up until noon, and stuff didn't do anything about it. Also, could not reserve any restaurants since they were fully booked well after we left. Not deal breakers, but still not pleasant. Great pools, kid zones, a nice beach, and decent food at the beach buffets. Do not use their transportation if you travel with a car seat. We could not install it properly (latches not accessible due to aftermarket seat covers and seat belt not "fixing" when pulled all the way)

Comparing this resort to another 5star and a 3star, I would choose the 3 star over this resort. It wasn’t bad, just not anything special. The beach is beautiful. The grounds are beautiful, and the workers are great. The wifi is almost non existent. No shade on the beach unless you find a tree to sit under. No one comes around with drinks.

Grounds were immaculate with some wildlife roaming through now and then Food was very good and a large selection at buffets

We went with a group of parents and kids for their senior spring break and it was so much fun for all of us!
