large resort kept spotless by tireless staff dedicated to making the guests content. The specialty restaurants continue to offer a fulsome menu of savory choices. The fitness centre is five star as is the pool. we have been to the barcelo many times and they do not disappoint

Hallway notice is loud at night, and the walls can be thin, but that too could have been the hallway noise. We had a bit of trouble sleeping. That's it. The rest of this resort is absolutely amazing. FYI....(This is not the fault of the resort) The bus ride from Tulum Airport to the resort took 2hrs35mins...yeah, you read that correctly. The road is under construction and paving as of March/2026. The town of Tulum is also under construction.

The Barcelona Maya Colonial was awesome! The staff was amazing. The grounds were immaculate. The pools were endless! The food was fantastic! We snorkeled off the beach and saw a herd of sea turtles.

This is really three Barcelo resorts in one location. Very big resort. Too large for most people in our group. The land part of beach is beautiful but ocean access is terrible and dangerous due to numerous large rocks and boulders in the water. The resort policy is not to allow large families or groups to sit together in restaurants or bars. They insist you split up and sit at smaller individual tables in smaller groups. Sun lounger chair availability was a big problem on the beach or at pool areas. Lots of walking required to get around this resort. Grounds and resort is very beautiful and well maintained. Hotel staff were not very friendly with the exception of a few individuals who really stood out.

absolutely loved our stay here. The staff was amazing. My children really enjoyed all of the amenities. The food was really good. We will definitely be back.

Facilities were ok - food could be better at the buffet. Rooms were ok, beds move a lot. safe was easy to use. Most staff were friendly.

This is our second visit to this excellent all inclusive. And it is still great. Read my review from last year about the Catalonia Yucatan Beach and how bad it was. But the Barcelo Maya Colonial is what all inclusives are supposed to be. There are five ala carte restaurants and you can reserve at all five with no getting bumped, ever. These resataurants are all good but we went to the Japanese Kyoto twice in a row because the Chef was so entetaining and the food so good. The others are great too. And we always enjoyed the food and the service. We asked for and received , once again , a king bed in our room. The memory foam mattress and pillows are super comfortable and we slept great every night. Housekeeping was even better than we remebered. Full mini fridge every day and the room made up and spotless. The snorkeling is grand and I did a lot of it. You get to swim with the tortugas and a great variety of fish. you have three great beaches to choose from and the pools are a lot of fun with lots of activities. My wife really enjoyed the aquasize classes. The buffet is actually outstanding with bacon and sausage every morning and made to order omelettes and eggs. The front desk does agreat job and the staff at the help desks get your ala carte reservations any time of the day with very good customer service. I know there is trouble in some parts of Mexico but at the Barcelo we felt safe and really enjoyed ourselves. As the pics show, it was great fun.

Too far from airport. Never ate at a nice restaurant because we couldn’t get a reservation. Pool and beach were great. HUGE resort- my feet are killing media to so much walking. Check-in took forever.

We enjoyed our stay very much ,the facilities were great , the restaurants were also great ,staff went above what we expected, we would recommend it to others for sure

All was great. Extra appreciative of their accommodation of food allergies for my son surh celiac - they made him custom meals safely in the kitchen we he thoroughly enjoyed.
